Very memorable rôles in some of my favorite movies, especially LOTR and Alien. Great actor.

to most people, he will always be Ash and Bilbo Baggins, but he was more than that! what an actor! RIP!

A fantastic actor. RIP.

Definitely too many great roles in all acting media.
My first introduction to him was his great acting in a role as Napolean in Napolean in Love. A 1974 BBC miniseries. All around great cast to.
Probably why he was chosen to do a cameo as Napolean in Time Bandits.
I will always remember him fondly as Bilbo of course in the Peter Jackson directed Lord of the Rings movies. (He also played Frodo in the well regarded 1981 BBC 26 episode radio play of Lord of the Rings)
Rest in Peace.

Ash: You still don't understand what you're dealing with, do you? Perfect organism. Its structural perfection is matched only by its hostility.
Lambert: You admire it.
Ash: I admire its purity. A survivor... unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality.
Parker: Look, I am... I've heard enough of this, and I'm asking you to pull the plug.
Ash: Last word.
Ellen Ripley: What?
Ash: I can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have my sympathies.
