I was a big fan of the Columbo and MSW. That was some good TV.

Thanks for the memories.

Columbo reruns popular as ever here in Japan too. They are still playing a season of best 20 on NHK's BS Satellite channel 3 on Wednesday evenings.

That baggy-coated character played by Peter Falk, with his never-seen but ever-present wife, his dog, car and cigars. Levinson and Link captured that era vividly, with the cars chosen, the hairstyles and clothes fashions, and 'new-fangled' technology like clunky video recorders, early computers, electric typewriters and remote microphones.

As sourpuss says above, thanks for the memories.

Columbo was and still is one of the best TV cop drama shows ever.

falk owned that role and his wardrobe or lack of, was all his own take on the character from the very start.

Thanks for adding such magic to my childhood

I also remember this comedian busker on the north side of San Francisco who did a terrific Columbo immitation. Falk was quite a great actor for the role, and it was also magic when I was a child. Crime drama TV became fun again when I became an adult, thanks to MIAMI VICE.

'Murder She Wrote' was an OK show to me as well, even if it was a bit far-fetched in a way.

Thank you for the fun, William Link. RIP
