I'm against homelessness, but is Will Smith really the person to highlight it?

Of course, playing a role in a movie is a clear qualification for being an expert on the topic.

The homelessness situation in any number of US big cities is a national scandal.  Us politicians should be looking at ways of alleviating the situation rather than the current waste of time and money being spent on impeachment nonsense

Exactly he could buy or build an apartment building that could reduce the homelessness rather than just point out the facts most people already know.

Spot on the politicians couldnt care less about the homeless situation as they waste time and money on something doesn't that has no chance of success.

@Andrew Crisp, how do you know Smith hasn't contributed to building homes for the homeless?

These days we need celebrities, people in the news, even the pope to highlight the weakness in our society, so I say, well done Will, keep up the great work

Really? Another moneyed person just talking. Not popular anymore?

Yeah, we need to actually get serious about it. Here in Seattle, the politicians are too busy stopping the police from dealing with rampant drug abuse on the street, and since a huge number of our homeless are on drugs, they aren't allowed into shelters, which have plenty of spare beds, so they stay on the streets where they can continue to be high...

Open your wallet then Will.

He's using his celebrity in the best way possible, methinks.

Smith is smarter than buying low-income housing.

Don't give a man a fish, teach him to fish for himself. Smith knows that his money is a drop in the bucket for what needs to be a societal solution for a societal problem.

People who don't have family to fall back on will have a very hard time when times are tough.
