Looks interesting. I never really bought into Richard Curtis' romcoms. A bit too saccharine, too unlikely...

Having said that, he did write one of the greatest episodes of Doctor Who, a few years back, so what do I know?

so this guy makes a living by taking successful British shows & Americanizing them !?

Mindy Kaling is a woman. Four Weddings and a Funeral is a fim. The male lead is British-Pakistani. Maybe you should have another cup of coffee!

Alfie, what’s your point, besides stating he is a she ?

Nevermind, obviously I hadn't had enough coffee either. It happens.

Having said that, I like Mindy Kaling. Maybe it'll be better with Americans in it. Like The Office.

The American version was quality. Not all British shows translate to US remakes but some do. Veep is another show that is easily as good as the original.

Imagine "Four Weddings and a Funeral" without Hugh Grant?

Oh, yes.

In fact, a world without any irritating British romantic comedies is a pleasant thought.

I quite like Pride and Prejudice, mind. The book, that is.

Remakes are the last refuge of the lazy and talentless.

Luddite, agreed.

No the office US lacked the subtlety and social awkwardness of the original.

Rinse. Wring out. Spin again. Aw chuck it, recycle - nobody will care.

The original 'Lion King' was good enough. 'Aladdin' with Robin Williams can't be matched. And those 'Spiderman' movies are such wretched bastardized godawful trash, Stan Lee is turning CCW in his grave.

Calling planet Earth: nope I don't see any creative life at the location known as 'Hollywood'. That location is deader than a frozen asteroid at the remotest reaches of the Galaxy! DEAD! Nothing alive at all.
