De Niro reminds us again of how little truth the human animal can bear - a salutary reminder of society's censors ever ready with their scissors to edit, cancel and hide, in this case when they fear freedom of speech will hurt the bottomline.

“The former president lied to us more than 30,000 times during his four years in office, and he’s keeping up the pace with his current campaign of retribution,” De Niro said. “With all of his lies, he can’t hide his soul. He attacks the weak, destroys the gifts of nature and shows his disrespect for example using Pocahontas as a slur.”

Well said Raging Bull!

Is De Niro gonna become a politico?

He...shows his disrespect for example using Pocahontas as a slur.

Disrespect? It was well-deserved sarcasm because she was pretending to be a Native American and reap benefits from that position on the intersectionality scale.

It's the same as if you lied about being a doctor and I called you "doctor" sarcastically.

"Doctor" is not a specific person being used to describe all doctors.

I don’t think the US could handle 4 more years of Trump.

The conservatives usually get upset when a ‘straight talker’ gets censored. They don’t seem upset about this case, how odd.

Some do, I'm sure. I'd be pissed if my speech was edited or cut without explanation or notice. (Thankfully, that would never happen here!)

To use one of Biden's linguistic tricks, let me add that I think everybody's speech should be protected whether they're smart or liberal.

The world can't handle 4 more more years of Trump! Climate disaster is right upon us now, and this "individual" (I want to use other words) is certain to green light fossil fuel friendly plans, etc. among his many other sickening acts.

That's missing the biggest point though, and I wish that more Americans would wake up to it. If this guy wins the next election, that's it for democracy in the US! Yes...really! The "New Republican Party" have been building such a lock over the electoral process, judiciaries etc. across the country that no other party will get elected again (until the people eventually take matters into their own hands). What kind of pathetic state the country/world will be in at that point is too depressing to contemplate.

He's become the Left's embarrassing uncle.

I am one trillion years old according to my coworkers, and with my seniority I implore you all to vote for an independent candidate perhaps from the Bull Moose Party.

DeNiro 's speech was edited for clarity; there have to be reasonable limits on an aging actor spouting his paranoid conspiracy theories !

Calling out Trump's disgraceful behavior is not necessarily a paranoid conspiracy theory.
