Why would rotten tomatoes be a reference to mark movie quality ?

I find it all but that. Moreover, what is audience rating ? No indication what it does come from (who can tell the raters have really seen the movie in fact).

Loved this film! Jar-Jar Bink's speech in the middle was inspired and really well shot! Was worried but it totally stands up!

Although I like the lead actress it was, in my opinion, an awful film. The franchise has been played out. It was like watching Rocky 15.

The Last Jedi is the worst Star Wars episode ever. Phantom Menace is way more better than this.

I know everyone's taste is different, but this opinion shocks me. It was way better than the Phantom Menace.

I think it's not really about the taste, as we can point out easily here where the problems are. A lot of scenes were shamelessly copied from The Return of the Jedi and Empire Strikes Back. They spent so much time on scenes and characters that are unnecessary and obviously the purpose of it is to sell more stuffed toys. I like Benicio del Toro, but that whole finding the code breaker scene was a complete waste. It didnt help the plot's progress at all, it was all fat to the movie because in the end that plan didn't succeed and it was also explained that it wasn't really that helpful and critical to them. If it wasn't that helpful then why would they waste time on it? instead we want to see a longer Jedi training of Ray and a more acceptable back story of why is she really SPECIAL and worthy of becoming a Jedi replacing the legendary Luke Skywalker? I felt it was rushed and by showing the insert shots of the books is a message to the audience that Ray will just self study to complete her Jedi training (so the franchsie can go on without the lead cast and leave the characters that will not require a real person but can be covered with costume). What makes a movie interesting? Antagonist! You can feel that the audience want more information about SNOKE, information that will make his character more effective and scary. Especially STAR WARS is very well known for  it's antagonist, they need to top Darth Vader. But unfortunately Snoke was only there for like 3 scenes and was killed that easily after all the build ups of how strong  and mysterious he is. I want to know more about Snoke than that Asian girl character whose purpose now is to just start a love triangle between Ray and Fyn. At least with Phantom Menace there were many cool action lightsaber fighting scenes and the plot is moving forward whereas The last Jedi where the lightsaber duels were so boring and less they even copied one action stunt from The Matrix lol.  I don't like Jar-Jar binks but Episode 8 created more Jar-jar kind of characters. The last Jedi is terrible and the worst Star Wars I have ever scene. Disney did s superb job with Rogue One, but Eposide 7 and 8 are so bad. Apologies for the spoilers haha
