Good for Arnie. No doubt he’ll be ridiculed by some people, but he’s got the worldwide popularity, he’s got the means to speak out and be heard. In the war of opinions, this is what public figures should be doing.

What has he done to California, has he even realized? The state has more buff loan than his arm.
Strangerland
You do realize he was the governor of the state for eight years, right?

Nice one Arnie. As his famous catchphrase reminds us, ‘I’m going to be back!’

Arnold, are you also supporting Palestinians?, or the abandoned Afghans, many more by uncle Sam
Strangerland
How dare he not address every global issue equally in the same press statement, right? It's absolutely pathetic that he wouldn't cover all global issues in every statement he makes on anything. Right?
....right?
Alfie Noakes
Really? I thought it was, "I'm back, but I'm going again."

Here is an idea to aid the cause further. Schwarzenegger could visit Ukraine and do some scenes from the Terminator and stream it. Make t-shirts, posters, etc to raise money. The script is already there.
Listen. Understand. The Russian army is out there. Putin can't be reasoned with, he can't be bargained with...he doesn't feel pity of remorse or fear...and he absolutely will not stop. Ever. Until you are dead.
"Come with me if you want to live". When Zelenskyy refuses he can, of course, say "I'll be back".
Michael Machida
Putin thinks he is Arnold Schwarzenegger.

True...got a lot of respect for Arnie from way back.

Well said, Arnold. -Here’s his Twitter message with the 9min16sec video. (And yes, it’s subtitled in both English and Russian.):

I used to think Schwarzenegger was a jerk, and I still think he's a jerk in some ways. But one time I read a story about Schwarzenegger that really surprised me. A long time ago but not too long ago, when Arnold had already become famous as The Terminator, he was in the back of a taxi or limo on his way somewhere. Suddenly he told the driver to pull over and stop the car. The reason for this sudden stop? Somebody had placed one of those big old refrigerators with the locking doors outside their home to be thrown away. Schwarzenegger went up to the house, knocked on the door and told the shocked woman inside something like, "What are you doing?! Why did you put your refrigerator outside like that?! Don't you know that a child could get locked inside of it and suffocate to death?!" The woman said something to him like she was too weak and she didn't know what else to do. Schwarzenegger then walked up to this big full sized refrigerator, picked it up in the air and put it down door side first down on the ground so it couldn't be opened up by any children. After that he got back in his taxi/limo and left without further word leaving the stunned woman with an interesting story to tell. Most people, let alone celebrities, wouldn't have done anything, but he did. He really does care about people.

As an Austrian with a father who was an active party member Arnie knows a Nazi when he sees one. He's rendered the Russians a great service by speaking truth to power, Putin, the war criminal who follows him on Twitter.

"'Stop this war': Arnold Schwarzenegger to Putin".
I am no fan of Putin, or his decision to invade the Ukraine. However, many of those supporting Ukraine are those - including Arnie - who supported lockdowns, loss of civil liberties, and "stay-home" policies. That in itself is a bit of a worry

It's almost like he has different opinions on totally different situations.
I have a lot of respect for Arnold

And that he has reasonable opinions on various topics...

"It's almost like he has different opinions on totally different situations."
Back in 2020, he was regularly posting to "stay home".
That aside, when you have Macron and Trudeau, two of the worst despots in the west criticising Russia for infringing on Ukrainian liberties, you have cause for concern.

Delirium.
Dictionaries are you friend.
Look up ‘despot’.

Yeah. That will work. Next up, Dennis Rodman. Then, Jesse The Body Ventura.

We're talking about Ah-nold so, of course, he will be ridiculed by some.
I did see his video on the Capital insurrection and did see his video on Ukraine. The part on Conan's sword in the first one may have looked camp, but I have no doubt that he is sincere in both of them.
One has to remember that as a 74 year-old (born 1947) immigrant from Austria, he grew up in the post-war ruins of Austria. As such, the Capitol insurrection did remind him of the (to him) not-too-far lessons on the history of the Kristallnacht and, even closer to home, the Ukraine invasion reminded him of his own father fighting under a wrong flag and wrong reasons in Stalingrad and the suffering his father would continue to carry later on in life.
On my side, born in 1970, I was (luckily enough) farther away from all these tragedies, but got first witness accounts from my parents, especially my father who with other allied troops liberated a concentration camp. He always struggled to define what he saw there. The closest he came to was "the face of evil".
Getting first hand accounts of your closest family members and friends does hit home. You end up carrying a part of the burden as well, because you see it as your own responsibility for these events to never ever take place ever again. As such, I see it as infuriating how names like Hitler or concept of nazisms can be tossed around or even used as a justification by some who do exactly know what they are doing.
I have no connections to Ukraine whatsoever, but to me, the shelling of humanitarian corridors, the bombing of shelters and hospitals is close enough to "the face of evil".
I thought that Arnold's choice of words were more than appropriate and his message deeply sincere. As such, and not only as a fellow European, I feel that both the message and the messenger deserve respect, not ridicule.

Macron and Trudeau are despots? If only all despots could be removed at the next election, should the majority of the people so desire. That likely to happen to Putin, do you reckon?
One of the abiding lessons of the past two years is how little some people understand the systems of government they live with, and how easily they’re persuaded by shadowy internet figures that things in democracies are worse than they actually are. And yeah, we know democracies are not perfect. Just better than the alternatives.

Well done Arnold. You have done something within your ability to do, to try and help. You have done so in a respectful way towards Russians. An intelligent personal and heartfelt plea to those responsible.
I find myself with a newfound respect for Arnold.

When you have someone post something constructed of so much BS you need to be concerned for their mental state. Your detached from reality and should seek immediate help.
If you think Macron and Trudeau are Despots, then Putin is the devil incarnate, and pure evil.
