The question here is: WHO will we get?

“*We've been expecting YOU, Mr Bond...**': *
-7 ( +3 / -10 )

*- “ 007 back “- We will see IF* it really is “James Bond” that we will get.

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

*- “after virus delay” - *a increasingly, convenient excuse being used by Hollywood now for every production delay due to script revisions. They even us it for their current box-office failures.

Headline of this article is misleading.

The Agent 007 of "No Time To Die" is Nomi, a young black woman, not James Bond. James Bond is officially retired from MI6 and has no 00 number, but is helping the 007 agent Nomi at a private citizen.

Sean Connery was the best Bond without question, but this film looks fun.

0 ( +7 / -7 )

This film will mark my return to the cinema - can’t wait

0 ( +5 / -5 )

Every other Bond film up until Casino Royale was just plain trash and mysogynistic as you can get. Craig has been the best Bond hands down.

-16 ( +2 / -18 )

smh: Whats wrong with you? This film was ready to im April 2020. They resisted the streaming route. You get out of ned the wrong side?

2 ( +4 / -2 )

I stopped watching James Bond in 1985. They are to violant and I hope this one goes down the drain. What an old and sick series.

-14 ( +0 / -14 )

Some folk have just discovered that the old Bond was "a rapist", but that he was, more worryingly, a homicidal psychopath "on her Majesty's (Machiavellian) secret service, remains to be revealed some time in the future.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

People really are way to negative about 007 .

At least he isn't Tom Cruise !

I will enjoy it at the cinema!

Daniel Craig isn't a bad Bond at all

As for Sean Connery portraying a rapist and a psychopath ? Nonsense.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

I love James Bond.

All Bonds are ok for me.

But to give my personally ranking:

Sean Connery

Daniel Craig

Roger Moore

Timothy Dalton

Pierce Brosnan

George Lazenby

Can not wait to see the new movie.

Cinema or Blu Ray, not yet decided.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Currently rewatching all the movies on Amazon.

1~5 still holds up

Diamonds are Forever is the worst

Roger Moore half comedy half action.

Brosnan definitely underrated.

Daniel Craig by far the best action bond.(all movies are 15 minutes too long.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Definitely my first foray back to the Cinema.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

As the saying goes, "there is no accounting for taste", which is why I much prefer the actor, Daniel Craig, to the thug for hire in a tuxedo, James Bond.

-6 ( +0 / -6 )

No mistake, I liked Casino Royale’s Daniel Craig James Bond and would expect him tp return in this movie before bowing out forever.

To your mistaken, perhaps PR driven observation @theResident 8:49am: “*This film was ready to i*n* Apr 2020.” - The ‘first cut’ of the film was edited in 2020 but** test audiences balked at the storyline and producers then knew it would fail if released in that *edition.

The “virus delay” is just an excuse for what has been re-shot, pieced back together and may still fail. - I’ll remain “cautiously optimistic” about this reshot and re-edited film.

Don’t we ALL agree, it’s the article that brings up the topics of “misogyny & sexism” ? So, both adult men & women readers should be prepared to read AND welcomed to offer their observations, commentary & opinions concerning those issues represented or, deleted from films:

“British actress and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge ("Fleabag") was involved in the script to help improve the portrayal of women, after repeated claims of misogyny and sexism.” -

-5 ( +0 / -5 )

er...they didn't make any further cuts from the last which should have been released in April 2020. What on earth are you talking about? Are you trying to make something 'woke' out of this from nothing. Preview Audiences back in early 2020 complained about the length of the film - Thats been about it.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

To all the Bond bashers - stick to watching the Disney woke movies

7 ( +11 / -4 )

These movies are so bad by now as to be barely watchable.

James Bond hit the scene the very year the UK ceased being a major power.

-6 ( +2 / -8 )

Not sure what you’re inferring by that @theResident 10:49am (despite the civility I’ve shown you today, even asking moderators to leave in, at least, just your related comments @8:49am).

*- @theResident 10:49am“Are you trying to make something 'woke' out of this from nothing.” -*

Benefit of the doubt, perhaps you’re just looking at selected comments out of their full context and what’s left as ‘part of the larger, thread’? Hence, I tried to get to back by demonstrating relevancy @10:17am:

Mate - You're making something out of nothing. Bond movies are nothing but fun and a escape from reality. If you don't want to watch it, don't comment and go and watch a Documentary on saving trees. Simple.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Responding directly to theResident 8:49am“smh: Whats wrong with you? …You get out of ned the wrong side?

Nothing. “Whats wrong with you?” - AND - Perhaps there is NO “wrong side”.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Here’s what you missed @theResident 11:19am:

*-@7:09am** “When will Hollywood realize mainstream audiences and traditional cinema fans are exhausted with their continuing agendas in the ‘wake’ of those tired, played-out 2016 politics?*

*We want to be entertained, NOT preached to**. *

And definitely NOT about how certain skins colors, genders, etc are this, or that, blah blah blah”

Hoping to see the next installment, "Everyone Could, Possibly Die", where 007 takes out the Wuhan lab and international epidemiology field conspirators.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

British actress and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge ("Fleabag") was involved in the script to help improve the portrayal of women, after repeated claims of misogyny and sexism.

Can we have a watchdog to keep an eye on the undue influence of well-connected, over privileged luvvies vandalizing British TV and film making?

Progress and all that.

As @Strangerland likes to say: “but seriously, a honest question…@Jimizo 12:42pm:

Was saracsm intended? (Sorry, my ESL weakness, and all that.)

I am really excited to see this movie and personally, Craig is my favorite Bond.

Perhaps I am mistaken but I was under the impression that after Spector, he was lured back with a 2 movie deal at about 25 million each, thus he might come back one more time? I would like that.

If anyone knows differently and can correct or enlighten me, I would appreciate it.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Every other Bond film up until Casino Royale was just plain trash and mysogynistic as you can get.

I don't remember Bond hating women, in fact the opposite, seemed very keen on the ladies.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

So you are OK with him being a professional killer. That's OK, even an admirable trait. But sexism (the character is clearly not misogynist) crosses the line, eh?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

The last Bond movie I saw was the one with the guy with a deformed face. They actually went so far as to not only copy large parts of the plot from "The Dark Knight" but went so far as to copy the exact dialog. It was patently absurd!!!

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Bond should be classy, suave and, when required, full of testosterone.

If this has gone woke,

with tick-boxing smoke,

then It'll go broke.

Let's hope this franchise doesn't choke!!!

3 ( +5 / -2 )

I love the old Bond movies and have been watching them in sequence recently since they all showed up on Amazon Prime a couple weeks ago (tonight I’ll be taking in The Spy Who Loved Me). I think this misses the point a bit though.

Bond is a killer, but as the protagonist he is only ever shown killing bad guys, so the audience isn’t made to feel uncomfortable about it.

Watching some of the Connery films from the sixties now, some of the scenes do make you cringe because they depict him doing things that would probably get him prosecuted for sexual offences today. In Goldfinger he physically forces himself on Pussy Galore. In Thunderball he blackmails a nurse into having sex with him against her will. Watching these creates some dissonance because while we expect heroes in action movies to kill bad guys, we don’t expect them to be depicted committing sex crimes.

The Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan and Craig Bonds don’t cross those lines, and actually most of the Connery films don’t either, but there are a few scenes in those early ones that are hard to watch today.

-4 ( +0 / -4 )

"No time to watch it".. la-la-la !!

Don't worry, many of us have time to watch it and after we watch it, we'll give you an update. ;D

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

@TokyoJoe, you can like women and still be a mysogynist and bond obviously likes women too much. Some of the old Connery films, it doesn't even seem like he's seducing but rather forcing himself on women. Totally cringe worthy. The Brosnan films weren't as bad but Craig got the total nuance of the character down flat.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

@Ingvar. Lot of time on your hands if you're watching self proclaimed rubbish!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

@theResident

Last one I saw was because GF wanted to watch it. Haven't watched any since that.
