The show's portrayal of a fiercely intellectual and morally virtuous Democratic president

It's too bad neither Kamala Harris nor Joe Biden live up to those virtues.

Michelle Obama and Hollyweird will fail to stop Donald Trump's re-election.

Will only drive more voters to Trump

Haha, another tired old liberal rehash by the Hollywood champagne socialists. They have zero relevance today

Is this the best liberals can do? Evidently, since Biden won’t come out of the basement, he needs Hollywood to paint him in a better life. Pathetic, but at the same time hilarious!

The show's portrayal of a fiercely intellectual and morally virtuous Democratic president (Sheen) was criticized by some on the political right who dubbed it "The Left Wing."

LOL. Only in America could a wooly liberal show be considered "left".

Still.

Seems to be terrifying the Trump men babies, so it should be worth a watch.

Just imagine if they ever watched The Good Fight. They'd pee their nappies!

The West Wing is one of my all-time favorite shows. The fact that it won 26 Emmys speaks for itself. If only the U.S. had a president like Sheen's character. His character and Michael Douglas in The American President were the ideal leaders (both Aaron Sorkin creations).

The far right is in disarray. Talking points are garbled and memos not received. When a telly show causes so much weeping and gnashing of teeth, there has to be something very wrong with fascism central.

In the meantime, smash your tv screens and rage against the machine. Take Hollywood, take the White House and give them to the poor, the needy, the Americans who have been trampled underfoot for generations.

TH nails it again.

If this is the best America can do, right or left, we’re doomed.

I wish it was. The true far right is loving every minute of words like ‘fascism’ being thrown around at people who aren’t fascists. They love people running down the language. The description ‘fascist’ is now becoming a meaningless slur. This is dangerous.

I see myself as on the left and I wish people on the left would stop fueling the far right.

Sheen has been an acting legend for 5 decades, not a comeback.

Talking of comebacks, I thought Macho Man Randy Savage had come back to life and been at the ‘special vitamins’ again. Then I realised it was Don Jr.

No, not really, it's just sad that Hollyweird is just out of ideas and have to dig into their dusty attack to find crap and reuse it in the hopes of attracting viewers.

In the meantime, smash your tv screens and rage against the machine.

A plug?

Take Hollywood, take the White House and give them to the poor, the needy, the Americans who have been trampled underfoot for generations.

Dems are doing that in their States...not really because they're all homeless and still needy. Liberals preach equality, but never practice it, but they want their votes...hmmmm

Sorry mate, but that's classic wooly liberal talk. It's that kind of fence sitting, preserve the status quo, mustn't rock the boatisms that leads to populism gaining a foothold.

Fascism is what we're seeing in the US right now, oh sure, it's not fully-blown fascism. But as long as Trumpism goes unchecked, it's heading towards a dangerous place.

Open your eyes. When conservatives start keeping dossiers on journalists, calling the press the enemy of the people, censoring art, calling it degenerate, burning books etc... that should set alarm bells ringing.

Jimizo, careful with the sensible talk. You’ll find yourself labelled “far right” before you know it.

The description ‘fascist’ is now becoming a meaningless slur. This is dangerous.

As George Orwell wrote a very long time ago, “The word Fascism has now no meaning except in so far as it signifies "something not desirable."

The far right is in disarray.

Sadly, they aren't. They're funded by American billionaires and Russian troublemakers and are very well organised indeed.

I’ve already been called far right. I’m not pure or blameless enough to be woke ( I’ve criticized Islam, the idea of men transitioning and competing in women’s sports, PC culture, deplatforming, university courses on lesbian dance theory etc. ).

I’ve also been called far left by rightists who swallow the rightist package whole ( I’ve criticized Trump, Johnson, Christianity, the disgraceful idea of working people paid so badly that they need to claim benefits, authoritarian idiots who think people should be jailed for disrespecting a flag etc. ).

The right are as bad as the left in this regard. The left throw ‘fascist/racist’ around and the right throw ‘Marxist/socialist’ around.

Both are extremely unhelpful

A case in point. What does this even mean??

A case in point. What does this even mean??

It's a trial run.

Read Fintan O'Toole's article.

Fascism does not need a majority – it typically comes to power with about 40 per cent support and then uses control and intimidation to consolidate that power. So it doesn’t matter if most people hate you, as long as your 40 per cent is fanatically committed. That’s been tested out too. And fascism of course needs a propaganda machine so effective that it creates for its followers a universe of “alternative facts” impervious to unwanted realities.
