Excellent news. Still brings a smile to my face, thinking of the angry, angry men out there who claimed nobody would go see the first instalment.
I'm a little reticent to see the live action BatB; if only because the original was so enchanting and full of charm. Then again; it could be a pleasant surprise like the latest incarnation of The Jungle Book.

I am very pleased this is coming! Such a wonderful role model, and great movie!
And you should definitely see BatB Toasted Heretic, they did a really great job of giving you what you loved about the 90's movie while adding so much more!

"Still brings a smile to my face, thinking of the angry, angry men out there who claimed nobody would go see the first instalment (sic)."
Most people seemed to think it looked awesome, unlike Ghostbusters.

I enjoyed both Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Wonder Woman. But Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was much better in my opinion. Beauty and the Beast I found pretty boring.

Fantastic! After weeks of liberal buildup and hype, the 1st instalment featured a hot, slim, Israeli Jew. It drove the SJWs crazy. They even complained that she shaved her armpits!
After the opening, nothing. No talk at all.

Your comments on WW and women in film were pretty derogatory, mind. You said you wouldn't go watch it and that nobody would.
Whereas I said I couldn't wait to see it. I take Gal Gadot as an actor, despite her political outlook. Feel the same way about Clint Eastwood, Robert Downey Jr and others who follow a right wing path. As long as the film has a decent, competent story and acting, that's the main thing.

actually they weren't.
But certain people are offended by every opinion they don't share, mind.

Looks like a bit suspect to me. It's one of the box office hits of the year. Either you want to see it on purely superficial terms (the ethnicity of the actor and how naked she is) or you don't want to see it because nobody but the most militant feminist is watching?
How do you explain the box office on this film?
clamenza
Nothing there that isn't patently true. But of course the usual suspects will be outraged.
How do I explain the box office?
Well, as I predicted the 14 year old mouthbreathers saw it in their usual numbers together with the feminists who went to see it out of spite.
What the story here doesn't tell you is the numbers in the 2nd week were down significantly for a superhero film, in fact, one of the worst ever performances.
The studios see that it was the T and A that sold tickets, and I expect the next film will improve on that, sending the feminists into even more of a tizzy
Toasted Heretic
I'm not outraged that you are confused by audience demographics, or by women. It's self evident.
Any citations or links to back up your bizarre theory that people went to see it out of spite? What are mouthbreakers? Do you get upset by teens as well as women?
Which is why it's got a sequel in the works and was the biggest hit of the summer.

Do you only like manly man films, is that it? Fair enough, I'm a big fan of Brokeback Mountain myself but that wasn't as mainstream as WW. It did attract a very diverse audience, though.
clamenza
Oh I'm sure you loved it.
It was an ok film despite one of the most horrific scenes in cinematic history.
I can't speak for the 14 year-old mouthbreathers that enjoy comic book movies though. I stick to more adult stuff
Andrew Crisp
Used to watch the original Wonder Women when I was growing up as long as the movies keep with the original context and not some politically correct rubbish it could be a good addition to the big screen.
Toasted Heretic
I thought it was one of Ang Lee's best movies, aside from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
You'll have to remind me, I've seen a lot of films over the years. Don't post a spoiler if it's crucial to the plot ( for those who haven't seen it.)
Sorry; I don't know what a mouthbreaker is. I do know that millions of cinemagoers around the world enjoy comic book movies from Men in Black to Road to Perdition to A History of Violence. I'm hoping one day there will be an adaptation of Art Spiegelman's Maus. I suggest those who think comics are "for kids" read that award winning book.
What do you consider "adult stuff"? Sam Peckinpah? Kubrick? Tarkovsky? Leone? All magnificent film makers who have lasted the test of time. All I'm saying is there's room for all types of cinema, the comic book genre included. no need to look down on the variety of films out there.

Women do have their place - other than in the Kitchen ! Of that, there should be no doubt/question.
But. I hope that there isn't an excessiveness towards highlighting that fact, since it would probably just result in a backlash resulting in egg upon their faces following a plethora of bad Movies such as the Ghost busters remake...
When done right, such Movies are really Superb. When done badly, it causes more harm than good.
Wonder Woman was done relatively well, and I hope that there is a sequal.
