Thanks, Gerry.
I was about ten when you were big. We'll all remember You'll Never Walk Alone. But Ferry Cross The Mersey is the song I remember more.

A charitable, chatty man. Only talked to him briefly many years ago but seemed decent at heart.

As an Evertonian, I can’t say I’m a big fan of You’ll Never Walk Alone, but Gerry was part of putting our city on the musical map.
Decent fella by all accounts. RIP.

An early Pink Floyd song has a recording of a stadium of fans chanting 'You’ll Never Walk Alone'. And I when I saw Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets in early 2019 the audience chanted it as part of that song.

They were great. I Like It is a great pop song. Depeche Mode used cover it at gigs in their early days.

Jerry Lewis covered that song at the end of his famous MDA Telethons. He'd get all worked up at the crescendo, and my little sister would ask 'Why he's crying?'. My mom said, 'He's so tired'. Yeah, tired from hosting a telethon for three straight days and nights over the Labor Day weekend. You would be too.
And I also remember the 'Ferry Across the Mercy' cover by Frankie Goes To Hollywood. Frankie's moment was brief but also very memorable.
The cultural impact is there for all of us to remember and cherish forever.
