And Japan is still showing season 5 on tv now. So we don't have to worry here for a long long time

Actually, Fuji TV just ended showing Season 7.

Don't get me started on that.

Smitty follows, as usual.

"Haven't seen him ( Bauer ) use a toilet yet"

Heck, you haven't seen him eat or drink anything yet, what makes you think you'd see him use a toilet, ha ha!

Sumobob: good one.

Don't get me started on that. For a while I was happy as hell about the writer's strike in Hollywood because in many series it gave Japan a chance to catch up. They did. But then did they air the shows when they came back on again at the same time? NO! It was, as the broadcasters said, "Season one ENCORE!" and for the third or fourth time they started again from the beginning. Never mind that when it came to 24 FOX Japan LITERALLY sometimes played the same episode two hours in a row!

Boy oh boy, eight days sure goes by fast.

It's due time for this show to stop. It's had its ups and downs, and this seasons is looking pretty good, but there's only so much you can believe some people can do, and I'm getting a wee bit skeptical of the all disasters that come into play all of a sudden.

Anyway, Kiefer might have a hard time getting out of Bauer's shell in future gigs, but hey.

Amazing!! I managed to miss all 8 years of "24-mania"...I guess it's too late to jump back on the pop-culture wagon...

I think 24 was interesting only its first season. After watching the Korean version Iris, i forgot about 24. Now I am looking forward to its continuation "Athena", especially with the new character who played in films like Daisy and Born to Kill. I think Japanese and American series are so boring, including 24. If I am to watch 24 again it would because of the actor Kiefer Sutherland, he is very nice.

I was and still am a huge fan of 24. I've watched all 7 seasons and seasons 1-5 twice. I think Keifer is awesome as Jack Bauer and his character totally made the show. I gotta admit, though that by season 7 I was losing interest but I am hopeful that season 8 will be great and Jack will go out with a bang!!

wow, didnt know so many people disliked 24! i personally think its quite entertaining in a brainless, no-thinker, predictable plot kinda way. you gotta admit, Kiefer Sutherland IS a good actor despite the fact that he mispronounces 'nuclear' as 'nucular'

I watched the first season and a bit of the second, but then it began to get a bit boring and if I missed one episode it was hard to follow the story.

Who won?

Next - 24 the 2 hour movie

Nah, it'll be a ground-breaking, 24 hour, real-time film. Don't forget your PJs.

I wonder if Jack Bauer will get a chance to use the bathroom in the final season, his last 24 hrs. Haven't seen him use a toilet yet.

I watched the 1st season. The show was way too over the top for me to sit down for a 2nd. Plus the whole idea of a black man as a successful presidential candidate? Way too unrealistic...

I thought it was boring. Watched only once.

Btw, I watched it on dvds instead of on TV.

Season 4 was the only one I watched. One season was enough for me. I thought it was predictable. I didn't care to watch the before or after seasons. It wasn't that good. Also, it was a remake of MI-5 (British show).

24 x 8 = ugghhhhhhh

Give me something else to complain about please.

wooooo hooooo happy days... I was so sick of hearing "mr president" 100 times a show.

It was a great idea for one show. But predictably, they had to turn it into a series and repeat the same formula over and over.

It is hard for a show to get good enough writing to go on for more than about three seasons anymore. Writers have to pack the best ideas, characters, and gimmicks into the first season because they know that the show has got to be a hit to continue to the degree that people get rich enough... otherwise the actors bolt and you are done. Then you milk that season two and cross your fingers. By season three you have some momentum, but it is getting stale. If you make it to season four, you are scrambling for ideas, and it shows. Buffy lasted seven seasons, Star Trek TOS was only three. Heroes really died after the first season. So Eight Seasons for 24 is amazing.

Cancelled. It was finished at about season 4. Nice concept, but wow. Eight seasons. I lost interest after season 2 because the rhythms, characters, twists, dialogue, etc. just became way way too predictable. I had friends who could hang with it a little longer.

Cancelled? Or just finishing?

I always thought the best way to end this show would be to have, halfway through a series, say for example 13 hours into the day, for Jack to just be killed, and the series end then and there.

Without hyping it up or anything, and keeping it a big secret, just suddenly cutting the series off before the full 24 episodes. It would be the biggest shock on TV.
