there must have been somebody who was better fit for this part
Haaa Nemui
There were others who signed on but had left due to creative differences. Rami Malek is supposed to have played the role very well.

Rami Malek is supposed to be excellent in an otherwise average film. But audiences are flocking to it, so what do I know?

I don't care what the negative critics say in this instance - I'll be there with flares on when it opens in my town.

Dismissed by critics, loved by audiences. Just like Queen then.

One of my friend has been to see the film, he says its a brilliant film and i should go and watch it. "one of the least drab humans who ever lived," really? I wonder if this is some sort of jealousy, its seems just a cheap swipe at a rock legend, although I am not a big fan of Queen, I can still see their immense talent and appeal.

I'll probably end up seeing it on telly or online. As I've said when the topic came up before, I'm a huge Queen fan (prefer earlier stuff) and it's a pity the film doesn't do Freddie and the band quite the justice they deserve.
Good to see people out there still love Queen and there's a certain satisfaction from reading about straight guys swooning over a bisexual man of Persian descent... Freddie would have thought the irony delicious, no doubt :-)

Great actor, if you have not already seen Mr Robot you should check it out free on Prime Japan:

Not only are we familiar with Mr. Robot, they once spent a whole day (~7am-2am next day) filming at one of our places (while we kept the place open and still doing work around the filming - and we've got photos to prove it, lol)

Critics are rarely right. And for this movie biography, they've never been so wrong.

The movie portrays his gayness as something Freddie was forced into almost against his will, which is clearly not reality either. It makes me wonder what the surviving members think of all this and the way his sexuality has overshadowed so much of the band’s legacy.

Finally a movie/story worthy to see on the big screen. Can’t wait!

Saw this yesterday. Queen and Freddie is my #1 favorite group/ singer.
i thought it was good but you could tell Brian had his hands all over this as it didn’t have much “Freddie” energy and too PG.
.
.
SPOILER ALERT ! !
I wished they would have spent 15 to 30 minutes more on their early struggles of their first 3 albums and cut the Live Aid show down to 3 to 5 min. In the live aid show, Freddie did not say “thank you”, he said FU. Why so PG?

Rami Malek does the part justice and there are more than a few very interesting insights into how the songs were written.
Dont believe the critics.
Go and see it!

I really can’t understand how came to your conclusions.
Two of the “surviving members” Brian and Rodger helped produce the film.
