Hmmmmm....... not sure I agree with all of this. Poor Aviccii wasn't that much of a superstar. and seems like fame didn't make him happy either.

This style of music is going nowhere in Japan without either
a) modernisation of the rules/ understanding concerning party drugs, or;
b) a shedload of brown envelopes going under various counters in Shibuya and Roppongi to encourage the Fuzz to look the other way.

EDM is just mass market house and techno, a crass version of the real thing. House and techno had a golden age roughly from 1988 to 2000. That's when the genre's limits were tested. Berlin and Ibiza were and maybe still are centers for house and techno, not EDM.
Hiphop is mentioned in passing and it too has been struggling since the nineties ended.

Jimmy Vallance is seasoned songwriter in his own merit. One of the major artists he worked with was Bryan Adams.
You gotta keep evolving and improvising. Music got so stale and corporate in the late 90s. Time to make it fun again.
