Korea idol industry is a brutal business. For a few years of fame, they give up all their rights to live freely and aren't even get paid that generous anyway. The company basically suck all life out of you.

Kinda like our anime industry. People literally work themselves to death and get underpaid. The only reason why they put up with these mistreatment is because they just love the job too much.

Hiro

It's the same with J-Pop too...... caters to the 'wholesome' image and the otakus believe that they just might have a chance with their idol.........The whole J-pop, K-pop image is too contrived.

Have noticed before the prohibitions on dating among the K-pop and J-pop personalities, and I confess to not understanding it. What is more natural than young people showing interest in each other? Are they only allowed to pretend to like each other, when it is written in a script, but never allowed to show genuine interest in each other? That seems tragic. One could make a very sad movie about this unjust situation.

It was Jpop in the 90s first but due to no internet like today, Kpop outshined Jpop in this brainwashed pop world.

Ok This so called no personal freedom reason is why some South Korean is making lot of softporn movies these recent years, trying to be like Japans' weirdly popular AV Industry.

Anyway..most of Kpop artist will turn into actor/actress after few years and stealing the spotlight in Films. This is making big humiliating problem for Theatre Actors or Real Cinema Actors.

You basically give away your rights for being an idol.

Part of the problem is the idolisation of these qualities and that if they lose those qualities they no longer become an idol.
