Poor girl.

The headline should be revised to "only recognized child of Elvis..."

Poor woman. She seems to have had a pretty tough life.

Her solo CD is pretty good. She had a good voice. Anyway, too young.

RIP

She would later make headlines of her own. Struggles with drugs and some very public marriages. Her four husbands included Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage.

The supernova like celebrity surrounding her itself could be a hell of a drug.

Tragic.

There is something daily and relentless about someone’s death being headline news most days. We all die, after all.

I remember a paternity test on TV by some woman claiming to be Elvis' daughter. DNA testing had just come to being, it was around 1984. It was a false money-grab scheme.

Being the child of a celebrity/star (and to some people, a god) is pretty tough. And in her case, if you get into music - how do you top or even try to outshine your dad when he's such a King/idol/god? The answer is 'You don't'.

I didn't like her first CD very much. Too much Alanis Morisette angsty stuff over nothing. She put out another one 2 years later. It had a cover of Don Hensley's 'Dirty Laundry' on it. Total rubbish. Nonetheless she died much too young. RIP

Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage. Two wildly different people!

When I was in a hospital, I read a paperback copy of 'Hammer of the Gods', a Led Zeppelin biography (not authorized). The members of LZ visited Graceland and Elvis greeted them. He gave them new diamond stud watches and they sang songs together. Robert Plant told the King, 'Oh, Elvis. You are such an idol to us!'. They exchanged autographs and then LZ signed autographs on copies of Lisa Marie's LZ LPs! She probably wasn't even a teen yet.

Elvis loved having guests, esp. star guests.

Elvis - a legend but, as the Beatles themselves discovered, the myth is preferable to the man. Like her father, despite all the fame and fortune, the daughter, being no stranger to tragedy, did not have an easy life. Let's hope her children and her mother can overcome this tragic loss and find peace of mind. RIP, Lisa Marie.

Some of the Beatles' children are in the music biz themselves. Sean and Julian Lennon are psychedelic, pop and avant garde artists of their own merit. Zak Starkey is a session drummer just like Daddy Ringo. Mary McCartney is a photographer like Linda. And in 2019 I saw Dhani Harrison, George's son. He doesn't try to approach the FAB legacy of his dad or even ride on his coattails. When I saw him open for (Jeff Lynne's) ELO, the announcer just said his name, nothing else. Many people in the audience didn't even know who he was or his FAB family history. And he's better off keeping it that way. He is Dhani Harrison, modern rock'n'roll artist doing his own thing. Period.
