Ridiculous and shamefull waste of money

All the poor New Zealanders who are also on the hook for this government subsidy can at least take comfort in that their contribution to tax revenues are being spent subsidizing the pleasures for those who are richer than they are.
And good luck with those tourism benefits while your borders are shut to tourists.
Like Japan’s ridiculous GoTo subsidies, this one is no better. Arguably worse.

Agreed. Totally ridiculous. Subsidizing Bezos whose net worth is nearly $200 billion for filming a series that, unless they totally stuff it up, will be a moneymaker. At the same time filming anywhere else on earth is probably a non-starter anyway.

Amazon’s profit in 2020 was nearly twice the GDP of New Zealand in the same year. New Zealand taxpayers should be disgusted.

A lot of people here fail at basic reading comprehension. They are giving Amazon a discount now so they can reap the benefits of international tourism in the future.

You've seen it? Didn't think so.
