justasking,

Putin is a bully and more, so these 2 are made from the same glass house.

Who told you about "a bully"? Maybe a woman of him? Or maybe some cnn? I'm so sorry for the question

What in the world is Seagal thinking?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Seagal lost his way long ago. He's become an old grumpy, Trumpy Don Quixote figure lost in the windmills of his mind. I hope he can find his Sancho Panza to pull him out of his MAGA rabbit hole before he loses it completely.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Even though he has gone full-goober and his movies are laughably bad,

I will remember fondly “Above the law” and thin Nikko.

Also the cue ball in the handkerchief in “Out for Justice.” That was a great scene.

Now, he’s just a fat sad parody of himself and an original “me-too” victimizer to boot.

I liked a few of the guy's movies back in the '80s, and he knows Aikido well, though whether or not Aikido is worthwhile in and of itself is sometimes up for debate. But he's essentially the acting world's Guiliani. He made a fool of himself, and will ever be remembered as a complete moron.

2 ( +3 / -1 )

He's clearly as mad as a box of frogs.

I didn't know if you were referring to Putin or Seagal, then I realized the comment works for both of them.

At least he found a better place to live and be happy in Moscow, way better than the good old US, where it's impossible to be happy..

Naw, he just became untouchable in Hollywood. No one wants to work with the guy, no one respects him and he can never get rid of the stigma of his reputation for being violent toward women. So he's done in the States, so he really had no choice actually.

Thanks President Putin for recognizing his remarkable effort..

Again, either Russia or Zimbabwe.

I don't understand. Seagal has Russian citizenship. How is he an "U.S. actor"?

Because (1) he has been an American actor since 1988 and he received Russian citizenship in 2016 and (2) the U.S. recognizes dual ctizenship.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Only under a severely mentally challenged Presidency could we have had a Secretary of State who received this award from Vladmir Putin.....SMH.

Has Putin seen any of this guys movies lately? Citizenship revoked !

So how were they?

Really the line “Steven Seagal is on Russia’s side” alone should be enough to shut down any debate about which side in this war sucks before it even starts.

The funniest thing is that if you look back a few years its clear that early on this was more of a one way relationship with Putin being a bit reluctant to get too closely associated with the Seagal brand. Kind of like Seagal was a male friendship stalker (like Jim Carey’s character in the Cable Guy).

Now that Putin is such a paraiah, he’s had to make friends with Seagal and you know he can’t like that. Also he has saddled Russian history with the irrevocable stain of having made Seagal the recipient of one of that nation’s more prestigious awards.

Also, its funny that Seagal’s man crush on Putin has probably been the subject of high level policy discussions in the Kremlin, and its very amusing to envision how those must have played out.

This is just hilarious on so many levels.

Two fatheads who are "badass" only in their imaginations.

Perhaps they can go riding (shirtless) together in the great Russian wilderness on the backs of giant bears using poisonous vipers as whips to fight packs of man-eating wolves with laser guns on the wolves' backs.

Then they can return back safe and share exciting tales of their adventures fighting democracy over a bottle of high-end vodka in front of a warm fire!

You know, a Tuesday!

Best part of Seagal's Wikipedia entry, posted here purely for informational purposes:

"After the actor claimed that, due to his aikido training, he was "immune" to being choked unconscious, LeBell offered Seagal the opportunity to prove it. LeBell is said to have placed his arms around Seagal's neck, and once Seagal said "go", proceeded to choke him unconscious, with Seagal losing control of his bowels."

If Mr Segal loves russia that much, revoke his USA passport and let him stay there

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Never did like Segal - terrible actor, stupid hair (the ponytail)... and now a pet poodle for Vlad. Hope he's proud of his adopted country and what the Red Army have done to Ukraine and it's people

My friend who lives for the Hollywood world told me he is a bully and people just avoid him whenever possible. I read an article when he was married to his Japanese wife, she suffered physical abuse and other women, too, he has been involved with.

Putin is a bully and more, so these 2 are made from the same glass house.

Putin isn’t half the man Seagal is. Literally.

I believe you'll find there are also ample opportunities to make jokes based on unflattering comparisons of the quality of Segal's straight-to-video work in the early 00s and the competence of the Russian military.

Steven Seagull looks more like big bird who ate Cookie Monster!

One of them is a bit out of shape.

And the other one is totally out of control, out of favour, out of his head, out of whack, out of order, out of his mind.

And hopefully soon, out of the picture.

Better headline: the Dictator meets the Traitor. Fitting bedfellows.

I met Seagal at my Dojo in LA back in 1994 and the guy is huge, he’s about 6’6 and he does have a very imposing vibe about him, and we all looked small next to him. He was ok towards all of us, but even back then his temper was legendary and already hit with scandals, I think it all caught up to him and he ultimately became a joke and left the US, no one in Hollywood took him serious anymore and all of his movies went straight to DVD and still to this very day.

He is one of the few movie stars whose career you can see end literally right in the middle of a movie.

When I first saw Executive Decision back in 1996 I remember being quite surprised that Seagal's character abruptly gets killed off about 1/3 of the way in, before he even appears in any action sequences. I Googled it the other day because it was on Netflix and it seems he was originally supposed to be in the whole movie, but one of his abuse scandals broke out during filming and Kurt Russell said he didn't want to work with him anymore, so they killed his character off prematurely and had other characters assume roles he was supposed to play.

After that it was straight-to-video fare for him and whatever this Russia obsession he has is.

Right.

Living in Russia is much better than living in

Hawaii,

San Diego,

Miami,

New York City,

...or even Viva Las Vegas!

Sounds like some of you have never been to Russia or America.

;-))

5 ( +9 / -4 )

Seagal really is an awful person. Putin needs his support like a hole in the head.

Space Ice om youtube does some great reviews of some of his later dross movies

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Segal could no longer afford to live in the US.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

The fact that the Russian government actually gives this man this much credit is hilarious. More clown show in Moscow than in Washington DC.

13 ( +14 / -1 )

Casey Ryback is going to save us all!

1 ( +1 / -0 )

He didn't use the occasion to take Putin out.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Not sure whether this friendship is as hilarious as the Little Fatboy / Dennis Rodman one.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

Maybe Jake Paul and his brother can take on these 2 guys tag team....would break all pay per view records

1 ( +2 / -1 )

It would be great to see a tag-team fight between putin/seagal on the one side and zelensky/sean penn on the other.....maybe they could settle the whole war like that....Film it and put it on netflix....it would be a BLOCKBUSTER !

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Very good for him, congratulations..

At least he found a better place to live and be happy in Moscow, way better than the good old US, where it's impossible to be happy..

Judo vs Aikido match, let's go! And why exactly is an Akido-ka always wearing a Chinese style shirt? The world is an interesting place.

He frequents the west LA yakitori restaurant Nanbankan.

Milliseconds later, Putin was thrown over Seagal's shoulder and slammed head first into a wall.

Now THAT would make Seagal my hero all over again.

The opening to Under Siege 3?

Wallace is the only person here who knows how this is gonna end.

Things aren't always as they seem.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

I better exercise more.

This image of Seagal has me wanting to eat less and exercise as much as possible.

Good going Steven Seagal, you finally made it big!

Good on you!

From a 1988 LA Times article

“You can say that I lived in Asia for a long time and in Japan, I became close to several CIA agents,” he said, choosing his words carefully. “And you could say that I became an adviser to several CIA agents in the field and, through my friends in the CIA, met many powerful people and did special works and special favors.”

They call tat helicopter a "skippy"; listen to it, skipskipskipskipskip.

Seagal's been friends with Putin for, like, 35 years.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Anyone think that Putin might have small man syndrome?

Rex Tillerson and Steven Seagal are republicans.

Ready for all the far-right posters here to laud and say what a "proud American" Seagal is...with his Russian passport...

When he's nothing but a turncoat and a traitor...

exactly

4 ( +17 / -13 )

A washed up actor and a washed up dictator. A match made in Russia. One is totally contemptible and the other completely forgettable.

17 ( +30 / -13 )

@lincolnman You seem to be arguing against yourself in an echo chamber as I see no such posts.

-4 ( +17 / -21 )

He was granted Russian citizenship in 2016, when Putin personally handed a Russian passport to the actor during a televised meeting.
