Sanrio Puroland kicks off 30th anniversary with livestreamed show and global-scale promo video

Sanrio Puroland is celebrating its 30th Anniversary from Dec 7. To commemorate the occasion, they will have a retrospective live-streamed show on the eve of the festivities on their official YouTube channel, and they've already put up a special video promoting the festivities (see below).

It looks like Sanrio has really put a big effort into this, based on the scale of the video which has footage from around the world. According to the press release, "Puroland wants to bring smiles and energy to the ever-changing new world (...) and repaint the whole world with kawaii."

With the slogan 虹を、つなごう ("connecting rainbows"), the show will take viewers back on the 30 years from the time of opening to the most recent developments at Sanrio Puroland, and along the way, introduce nostalgic images of past shows and parades. Also, there will be a quiz to see how much of a Puroland enthusiast you are, as well as a section introducing the highlights of the 30th Anniversary Parade "Hello, New World ~ Connecting Rainbows ~" which starts from December 7th (Monday).

When: Dec 6 (Sun.) streaming from 19:45, show begins at 20:00

Starring: Hello Kitty, Dear Daniel, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, Yutaka Masuda (Puro D★E), Natsuki Kanji (Puro D★E)

Sanrio has completely destroyed its goose with the golden eggs, Hello Kitty. All its other characters bring neglectable revenue compared to HK but they licensed of the rights to produce a lot of junk. The theme park will have to close down within the next 3 years. The party is over for HK
