Simon checked out Dylan’s “Self Portrait” album in 1973 as an eighth-grader at a University Heights middle school. Simon, now 73, says he found it between two other Dylan albums in his personal vinyl collection.

He was an eighth-grader in middle school in 1973, but is now 73?

He must have either been the oldest eight-grader in his year, or he’s now actually 63. I think it’s the latter.

Also, while Self Portrait is decent, I would’ve been more impressed if he’d been holding onto Blonde on Blonde.

"The funny thing about this is that we don’t charge overdue fines anymore–as long as we get the item back, we see no need to penalize people"

Wow, this is one cool library.

As a follow up to my earlier post, the Associated Press has amended its report:

This story has been updated to remove the age of Howard Simon.

His age cannot be determined.
