Make your music available to both parties and get free good publicity.

You're not a member of the entertainment industry if you don't have a cease and desist letter out to the Trump campaign.
Corey
The entire entertainment industry is on the left. Recording artists who get associated with Trump can lose a lot of money. Or worse yet get cancelled as is the favorite tool of the left.
TokyoLiving
The anti Trump artists is growing..
Who nice musician likes little Duce use their music in his far right rallies??..
Garthgoyle
Yawn. When people don't have any valid points about an issue, they proceed accuse but it's the left/right's fault.
So boring.
Corey
Garthgoyle
What other “valid points” can be made other than that? If they side with Trump, they’re screwed. If they side with Harris, they get fans.
Some dude
Recording artists who get associated with Trump can lose a lot of money.
As they fully deserve to.
Jimizo
So repetitive, aren’t they?
Just regurgitating.
Garthgoyle

ABBA has been around since the 70's. That's 50 something years of glory & fame. They don't need anymore fans.
So no. Not a valid point.
Also, believing either Trump or Kamala is a better candidate than the other, or not wanting to be associated with either one, doesn't make the individuals rightist or leftist.

Okay, okay. I admit I don't get it. Is it possible that the politician who wants to use certain music asks first? Is it against the law to say, "Hey, Mr. Jagger, I'd like to use a couple of your songs at my rallies. 'Sthat okay?" Would it be possible for an artist to sue a politician for not being asked? It just seems to me that simple politeness would set things straight. Politeness is all right in politics, isn't it? See, like I said, I don't get it.

Wasn't Trump supposed to stop committing crimes as part of his bail agreements? Seems like hardly a day goes by without some sort of new violation.
Some dude
Wasn't Trump supposed to stop committing crimes as part of his bail agreements?
To borrow and modify a line I read in a book once, asking Trump not to commit crimes is like asking a bee not to buzz.

No respected musician wants to be associated with the lying, convicted felon Trump, and even more they do not want their music to help such a disgusting character become President of America.
It is completely understandable that respected musicians take necessary measures to distance themselves and their product from horrific shysters like Trump. Expect more of this before the elections.
BB
What a surprise that the Trump campaign used the music without asking.

It doesn’t matter that Abba has been around since the 70s. They have a legacy image that they cherish.
Also, entertainment personalities are far more likely to be on the left for reasons stated previously. So, they are more likely to allow their music to be used by the left. However, Harris campaign has no shortage of lower culture music ( Megan Thee Stallion, Lil Jon etc.) and don’t really need the more traditional ones. But they could get them more easily than Trump.

The former guy has his own profile on imdb.com, with credits as an actor and producer. He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Tell me again how the entertainer is a leftist. Because in a way you may be aware, he gives more money to the left in campaign donations, owns property in San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, but not Branson Missouri. No, sir. Not Branson Missouri.
konjo4u
The guy is a scam.
John
No artist of any merit wants their work or reputation sullied by this scumbag.
Lepyon
Yes I wish he would stop playing that godawful music as well. Maybe need to up the game a bit with some Guns and Roses or Oasis
Yrral
Dancing Queen is a hit for JD Vance ,he once dress in drag and has been a drag on Trump Presidential hope
WA4TKG
If you’re lucky, it’ll get people to buy your music haven’t already
John
What makes you think that either band would want to be associated with a rapist scumbag like Trump?
ArtistAtLarge
Go get him, ABBA!
ok1517
Good to see!
Trump losing more and more support.
Musicians, Republicans, members of his former "administration" or what you want to call it.
Soon the only ones left will be people like Vance, MAGA freaks and his clan members.
Who really wants to support a draft-dodging, military insulting, rapist scumbag like him?
Corey
He was never determined to have raped someone. Names like rapist, nazi, racist etc. get thrown at people without proof. As mere insulting terms for people we don’t like.
John-San
How come no complaints when the DJ a Maralago give abba a spin. Two face uptights.
BurakuminDes
Why would a candidate persist in playing music of people who don't like them? Rather bizarre.
"I know you hate me, but I'm gonna give you airtime!"
Surely Trump has artists who endorse him that he can play on repeat...Ted Nugent...Kid Rock.... any more? Didn't Chachi put out a few songs in the 80s?
bass4funk
Exactly, it would be a win-win altogether actually.
Not a scumbag and definitely not a rapist. But the publicity helps for sure.
bass4funk
He's getting a lot of support from the Hip Hop community, if I were him I would use some Ice Cube or Snoop, maybe E-40
wallace
ABBA does not need the publicity or the Trump association. Aren't they free to choose?
bass4funk
No, but all publicity like this helps a musician
Not anymore, it's a done deal.
wallace
bass4funk
ABBA does not need the publicity or the Trump association.
I guess you didn't the memo. ABBA no longer performs.
"It said no permission or licence had been granted to the Trump campaign."
Not a done deal then.
bass4funk
But it still helps, we are talking about it now, are we not? So there you go.
They still get royalties from sales, so they expect more money, win, win!
Yes, but the public can still buy their music, so it definitely helps both.
Well, it is actually, again, we are talking about it and both sides will benefit. Clever move.
wallace
bass4funk
so will you buy an ABBA album then?
bass4funk
No, because I own every single album from them.
bass4funk
Yup. Even Bono is a huge, huge fan. Their musical arrangement is one of the best of any group since the Beatles, hands down. Their chord progressions, just fantastic.
