“Congratulations!” ABBA on your continued success!

Oh dear God. I just can't like them. Dancing Queen is ingrained in my mind as the most annoying song of the 20th Century.

Awesome sauce! I'm so thrilled they've put out some new tunes. Can't wait to listen to it!

Let's be honest, even if you don't like ABBA and "Dancing Queen", that statement was over-the-top.
I mean, we have Billy Ray Cyrus with that song of his. We have the insufferable Celine Dion with her Titanic song that never seemed to stop playing, we have Vanilla Ice with his one-hit wonder rapper wanna be song...
And that's just for starters.
So, maybe you might want to rethink that statement.

One of the catchiest pop songs in history and brilliantly produced. I’ve heard covers of it but it’s so difficult to improve on - they had a great tune and absolutely nailed it in the studio. I was listening to the radio the other day and ‘Easy’ by the Commodores came on. That’s another one where it’s difficult to see how it can be improved upon.
I listened to this new album by ABBA. Pretty good. The Christmassy song annoyed me a bit but I’m a grumpy sod.

I was a big fan of theirs as a kid. It's hard to recreate the music and the feeling of that time. That's why I'm fine with their greatest hits albums. Tack för musiken.

Deranged.

Try listening to the Trashmen's Surfin' Bird before judging Abba's Dancing Queen. Don't you know about the bird...

Fantastic. And Anna-Frid hinted recently this may not be their swan song.

Not too many songs really get on my nerves. As I posted earlier, I like listening to radio. Only ‘Desperado’ by the Eagles had me lowering the volume recently.

Watched the Seinfeld episode the other day where Elaine's BF's song was Desperado. One of the Eagles' earlier ones, before they started to rock. Can live without it.
ABBA will rule my airwaves for the next few months.

I just bought a CD copy the other day, the last one in the store. The first song is a bit 'poppy' but I think I'll grow to like it more. The rest makes me feel like a kid again, I just love it! And the 'Christmassy' one also makes me feel good, ready to snuggle up and go to bed! I'm past the stage where I enjoyed just watching the Swedish ladies on TV in their tennis shorts (I was 11, 12, 13...) but the music stands out and they're as good now as ever.
'Macarena', 'My Humps', Spice Girls, pop tarts, 'Friday', Justin Bieber, boy bands, all that rubbish is Suck City to the Max. Dung for the ears. They make ABBA's 'weakest' songs look like they're the Beatles, Beach Boys, Rolling Stones, U2, Ramones, Proince altogether by comparison. ABBA has some really good catchy music. Their later CDs like 'Voulez Vous' and 'Super Trouper' (I have both) are really catchy Eurodance stuff.
