Gissa Job. RIP Yosser.

When the "Pearly Gates" open for 'grafter', Yosser, his first words will be his legendary trademark, "Go on, gizza job!" that entered the vocabulary of British society in the 1980s from the "laughter through tears" pen of Liverpudlian playwright, Alan Bleasdale. RIP. Bernard Hill.

Outstanding actor, immortalised in the UK for Yosser Hughes with the lines 'Gissa job' and 'I can do that', in Alan Bleasdale's 'Boys from the Black Stuff'. One of the landmarks of classic BBC drama and well worth seeing on DVD. Bernard Hill's wonderful, distinctive voice could be heard on UK TV a few weeks back as the narrator of several series of documentaries on Indian railways that were being repeated. RIP.
