Not looking good for Brian, she’s one of many who have made similar claims and may give others the strength to come forward too.

While it is so terrible for her if the events happened as stated in the lawsuit, we can’t help but be reminded of somewhat similar, or parallel events happening to, and executed by, her character Ros in “Game of Thrones”.

- “She deals with complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxiety, depression, and panic attacks to this day as a result.” -

Her ‘business/personal relationship’ with Warner was 2009 - 2011 while she was filming GOT Seasons 1 - 3 2010 - 2012. How did she ever get through those scenes with very similar ‘themes’?

An additional thought on topic, while the @7:16am comments are believed sympathetic and encouraging to other possible victims:

“she’s one of many who have made similar claims and may give others the strength to come forward, too.” -

we can’t help but see the irony in the choice of username. Perhaps it’s intentionally meant as ‘parody’ and not necessarily ’tribute’ to a similar named celebrity well-known for His misogyny, sexual predatory behaviors of ‘sex in exchange for roles’ and ‘Svengali-esgue’ control over young Broadway ingenue?

“Not looking good for Brian,” -

Again, no personal disrespect intended to aforementioned commenter if it’s ‘authentic’ and merely coincidental with the related subject matter.

Of course, should there a future news item about avalanches I’d expect you to refrain from commenting.

-Manson deprived Bianco of food and sleep though gave her alcohol and drugs, locked her in a bedroom, whipped her, gave her electric shocks, tried to force her to have sex with another woman and threatened to enter her room and rape her during the night, the suit alleges.

At which turn of events one might make one's escape asap and phone the police.

-The two began a long-distance relationship later that year, the suit says.

What?

This is disgusting.

The (alleged) sexual violence and manipulation by the man would take it's toll on anyone but it seems she really went through the wringer. Thankfully she came forward, in the end. A brave move, as some will seek to villify her.

Anyway. Stomach churning stuff, and I say this as someone who used to respect the guy for his views on gun violence (i.e. post Columbine etc).

I hope his victims will recover eventually, but for some people, it stays with you for a lifetime.

Thank you both for your sensitivity and support of victims speaking out.

Agreed @ToastedHeretic 12:29pm.

Having survived similar experiences @BobFosse 9:50am,

“Of course, should there a future news item about avalanches I’d expect you to refrain from commenting.” -

we feel justified in our opinions and will continuing to comment on both sets of reported circumstances, in the future.

I guess my downvoters on the previous comment thought I was victim blaming. That is not the case. The abuser should be punished. The victims should be compensated and supported. That goes without saying.

But we need to understand abuse better. It cannot be stopped simply by court action, not least because the judicial system is ropey at best and inaccessible to many.

All abusive relationships are enabled and we need to work harder to prevent that. Some are enabled by circumstance. By poverty or by culture. That is especially so in traditional countries, such as Japan and South Korea, where the balance of power between individuals, created by age, seniority or status enables abuse far too easily.

On a personal level, as a society, through education, parenting and friendship networks, we need to stop creating so many easy victims. Beyond consensual fetishes, nobody should consider abuse to be a normal or acceptable part of a relationship. There will always be individual cases where psychological issues play a part, but we need to fix the bar for acceptable conduct in relationships, professionally or personally, explicitly so that anyone facing any form of abuse, whether bullying in the workplace, or in the home, feels able to immediately walk away, fight back (legalising acts of self-defence) or call for help.

No solution will be comprehensive, but as a society we should be doing all we can stop cultural, financial or personal issues from enabling abusive people to abuse.

You can scale this up. Look at Burma, whose people are being abused by a military junta (largely male) that has colonised their own nation and murdered citizens. By only advocating peaceful protest, other nations continue to enable dictatorships. They do this because they wish regimes (including their own) to be able to abuse and control their citizens, by having a weak population. There are enough people in Burma to rise up and kill every member of the junta. With no external support to call on, that would be a just action and an appropriate solution to remove their abusers.

On a more personal level, we need to embed in law the right to self-defence, so that anyone being abused can physically fight back at the point of abuse, if they are able to, without fear of punishment. We also need to educate kids into what is acceptable, and do more, as friends and family, to stop people accepting abuse in personal relationships.

There are too many victims of abuse who go back for more, particularly after marriage. The only way to get those numbers down is to hard-wire into young people, as they grow up, red lines in conduct that they will not tolerate, and give them the confidence and support that ensures they do not get snared by abusers, who predate upon those they believe they can successfully victimise.

Isn’t she an ‘actress’ ?

or is this all part of this stupid non-gender BS ?

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Well stated @GBR48 5:50pm. Don’t concern yourself too much with the “downvotes”. People will “ - “ for any number of reasons. (For example, while other current events are important considerations to ponder and comment on, even your 6th paragraph, using certain names for certain places can indicate a “political” viewpoint, that some may or may not agree with, thus detracting from the story presented and resulting in another “ + or - ”.)

Most people would understand you were just questioning the information in the way it was presented by the undisclosed authors and the editorial style used by AP. For example, the very last, brief paragraph highlights a prominent role for which the actress may be most notable. If you’re not familiar, the “Ros” character’s ‘storyline she was portraying must have been very difficult to endure whilst she was undergoing both the alleged physical and psychological abuses by the accused. It will most likely have some bearing on the lawsuit and will be covered thoroughly by the defendant’s legal defense team.

Never liked the guy, he always struck me as a racist sexual offender and looks like I was right.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here... Innocent until guilty folks.
