Unfortunately Bobby been phoning it in for about the last 40 years. Same old mannerisms in every movie.

Yeah, but Bobby is still a cool actor overall, iconic, but the man lost his way, getting senile, more short-tempered; easily agitated. Not good for a legend in his twilight years.

hes no Daniel Day Lewis, thats for sure.

Oh well, That’s a whole complete different category. “Hello priest!”

And now hes blown it with us progressives

He's now blown it with a lot of people now that this story has come out and like all the other hypocrites in Hollywood that bash Trump and got caught doing much worse than the man they complain about, he just needs to go somewhere, sit down and reflect on life and leave all of us alone.

De Niro was great in Midnight Run. He's really gone downhill since then.

I used to love Bobby as an actor, the man is talented, made great movies and yet once again we see in these Hollywood hypocrites that life hauntingly to a degree imitates art. The man gets on Trump for what he said about women, but this guy yells, curses this person out, makes this person scratch his back, is now sued for gender discrimination? This is just shocking. DeNiro can’t say Jack now, he even opens his mouth Trump is going to smash him and publicly destroy him, best thing for Bobby to do is shut up, slip in the shadows and keep a very low profile from now on because on this one, he would never be able to win.

According to the lawsuit, he sometimes directed Robinson to scratch his back, button his shirts, fix his collars, tie his ties and wake him up when he was in bed after hiring her in 2008 when she was 25 and aspiring to a career in the entertainment industry.

“De Niro would unleash tirades against Ms. Robinson often while he was intoxicated in which he denigrated, berated, bullied, and hurled expletives at her,” the lawsuit said. “De Niro made vulgar, inappropriate, and gendered comments to Ms. Robinson. He would joke with Ms. Robinson about his Viagra prescription.”

I believe the key words are "aspiring to a career in the entertainment industry". Nutso De Niro has the power to blacklist anyone who is just starting out, or holds a lesser job than "STAR", in the hollyweird entertainment industry. They are all insecure, egotistical, prima donnas. I'm sure Robinson's job didn't start out consisting of scratching his back, or waking him up when he was in bed.

In the beginning, Robinson would have proudly told her parents, "Mom, Dad, I'm in show business". As her parents became aware of how she was being treated by a "STAR", she would have changed her proclamation to, "But Mom, Dad, I'm still in show business".

We don't understand unless we have been a victim of this type of abusive relationship.

@hopenow Then we cannot judge. At all. Period. Not going to give the accuser the benefit of that doubt. No way. And even if someone was such a victim it does not mean they can read the mind of another and know they were the same. Innocent until proven guilty and you are saying we cannot judge, so its over before it begins.

Besides, the only way I can look at this is if someone is so weak they can be so psychologically dominated by someone despite all the progress society has made to give women every opportunity to escape then to hell with the whole business and its just their lot in life. Those people are going to be whining their whole lives about somebody dominating them but I have my own life to live and I would like it free of all this whining.

@Burning Bush, exactly what I thought. The first instance of the examples given she was told to do and she didn't agree with them she should have said something then and then quit.

@Burning BushToday: 10 years of “abuse”?

Why didn’t she simply quit?

We don't understand unless we have been a victim of this type of abusive relationship. . So, it's easy for anyone to say or criticize by commenting like "Why didn't he/she just get out of the relationship?" or " Why didn't she simply quit?". I personally have never been in either side of this type of situation or relationship. The studies show that the perpetrators, in this case Robert De Niro, has such power over the victims and the victims feel so powerless. I can simply pray for her and hope that she learned from this horrible experience.

Love Bobby but if the allegations are true, he's gone down majorly in my opinion.

@BigYen, but that negates the whole purpose of MeToo!

White supremacist males prejudging situations is the problem.

Trump curse strikes again. Believe all women, Bobby.

Hillary says, always believe the woman. Whose gonna argue with that?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

I wouldn't support or oppose anyone just because they were liberal or conservative. There are sexual predators on both sides of the divide just as there are actual victims and unscrupulous people.

I hope the actual victim wins.

lots of blaming the woman here. Havent you people heard of Metoo?

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

he doesnt use vulgar language. That CNN broadcast was a fabrication.

Another woman making a complete mockery of real victimization whom women will foolishly rush to defend anyway. Most women seem to only know how to throw men to the wolves.

Its getting to where I can no longer feel sympathy even for women who clearly ARE victims when women like this get an ounce of support. If the abuse was so real and so bad she would have quit years ago. He length of employment tells us its either made up or it was totally bearable.

Its gonna be an interesting battle, De Niro is a typical liberal who has constantly made comments about how Donald Trump should behave and now we have recorded evidence that he can be quite the vulgar man himself. As for her complaint about De Niro abusing her for 12 yrs makes us wonder why she didn't leave years ago, makes no sense.

@Kestrel

Ok, his movies are full of violence, and hes pro gun control - but that dont mean hes a hypocrite!

I wouldn't say De Niro is a role model for our young men to follow.

Also, it seems he's been busy vehemently criticizing President Trump for being a 'bad person', while at the same time displaying his own poor personal behavior.

I don't mind people having a political opinion and sharing it, but many of the Hollywood types seem hypocritical. Lecturing us about morality while Hollywood itself is rife with sexual abuse, power harassment, pedophilia, etc. and produces so much violent trash.

there have been unsavoury rumours about MrDeniro for years - all just words. Words!

his whole career is full of (great) movies glorifying violence. so, the way i see it, Robert De Niro thinks it,s ok for him to be a "tough guy", and for him that includes being a bully or just simply an a---hole. it even got to the point where he now says (CNN interview a few days ago) that Trump is a wannabe gangster (like it,s a good thing to be a gangster?) and hearing him speak in different occasions i come to the conclusion that he likes to praise those people. so a person who thinks good things about the mafia... that person probably is a piece of work in private life, not exactly pleasant to deal with. not blaming anyone here and the assistant herself is suspicious. also i don,t know him personally but we know that these people like to think they,re entitled to everything and as they grow older, it doesn,t get any better. people need to separate fiction from reality, and as a man, as a person, i don,t think there,s much in him, other than making good movies. looking forward to watch The Irishman btw.

Bobby came to Roppongi one evening pulled an attractive dark-skinned waitress from the bar above Geronimo invited her to visit USA paid for it all, never heard any negative reports about that incident.

On first glance it seems this lady has an axe to grind. But at the same time, De Niro did have a lot of criticisms towards President Trump about things he himself seems guilty of. Hmmmm.

Robbie Deniro is in reality a bully as well as being a simply vile individual. What a hypocrite.
