Actress Rinko Kikuchi, 33, and actor Shota Sometani, 22, have tied the knot.

The announcement of their marriage was posted on Sometani's website on Thursday, TV Asahi reported.

Kikuchi is known to Western audiences for her roles in "Babel" (2006), "Pacific Rim" (2013), "47 Ronin" (2013), "Kumiko the Treasure Hunter" (2014) and "Last Summer" (2014).

The couple, who were introduced to each other by a mutual acquaintance, said they look forward to building a happy family together.

Good luck! Unfortunately, I doubt it will last very long. It has all the makings of a media marriage. Mr. Sometani wants to be recognized, so he can get big time roles like Ms. Kikuchi (doubt it). Ms. Kikuchi wants to get respect amongst her Japanese peers as being desirable with a young man who is easy to control.

TSK TSK!

Speculation on how long a marriage will last is deleted as "Off topic"?

Moderator: Why even speculate? Show some class and wish them well.

I'll give this marriage 3 years tops. I bet they quietly divorce so they don't get embarrassed.

I doubt the relationship will last very long! Mr. Sometani married her, so he can become better known in the industry. Since Ms. Kikuchi is based in New York, she married a very young man to stay relevant amongst her peers in the Japanese media. They will probably spend very little time with each other then divorce a year or so later.

For many famous people, getting married is like a long date. They can enjoy each other without gossip and rumors, and get divorced when they tire of it.
