Affleck, Damon's production company to adopt inclusion rider

Ben Affleck and Paul Feig are jumping on the inclusion rider **bandwagon...**

Bandwagon? Equality is seen as a bandwagon?

Let's be honest, Damon had no other choice if he still wanted to be seen as the Hollywood "nice" guy. Both he and Affleck are products of Weinstein and both would do anything at this point to remove the smell of it on them.

Preventing assault and rape is a necessity for our society. But all these people trying to ruin people's names for expressing an opinion are pathetic.

And to be clear, I care much more about the safety of women over the careers of those who would do wrong against them. And I care as much about the careers of men who have not done anything wrong, as I do about the safety of women.

This idea that it's ok to ruin any man's life because some women have been assaulted, is an affront to human dignity, and is just as bad as the sexual assaults.

You think human dignity is just as bad as sexual assault? Seriously? You believe that a man possibly losing his career, or even losing his career, is on par with the aftermath of rape and abuse? Wow.

Whatever about Hollywood actors maintaining their public image and box office - rape is an horrific ordeal and not everyone can just bounce back from it.

Let's hope things change for the better and all this isn't just empty words.

About riders, they are negotiable before the contract is signed. Lots of people, be them actors, comedians, speakers, musicians, etc, have hospitality and productions riders. They are simple additional terms to a performance contract - and routinely have items scratched off and sent back for approval. Actors could have asked that the entire production team be comprised of hispanics who speak native French, but doesn't mean it would be approved by the studio.

About this equal rights bs, what happened to the thought that the person best qualified would get the job? Oh wait, this is Hollywood, so the person who is best connected ends up getting the job. Or the women who decide the are willing to put their career first before their morals and will sleep with a studio exec or producer to one up their fellow actress.

I wish they would just call it a clause instead of a “rider.” I had to read two thirds of the way down to confirm it was really just a contractual clause, and not a person they gave a ride to one day on the way to the office.

Is it supposed to be some new hipster word, like how “bespoke” is used instead of “custom design?”

It's not a new, hip term. It's been used in the entire entertainment industry since forever (on the business side).
