"What drives me is the unjustness of half the world eating and half the world not eating, and half the world causing considerable damage to our planet and the other half not contributing (to climate change) but starving and suffering from that damage the most," Elba told AFP.
Idris is on to something shameful and shocking here. This isn't about Nazis in the past. It's about US in the present! It's time the world got its priorities right and we put our money where our mouth is. The hidden trillions of the rich and the bloated war chests of nations would finance a solution, but where to find the humanity in our hypocrisy?

Small farmers? My suspicion is the Davos gang is as interested in the fate of small farmers - particularly those in former colonial territories - as those colonialist-trained native bureaucrats who inherited the practices and attitudes toward native people of their former masters. A white elite was often simply replaced by a black elite. The lives of their countrymen changed little. Or perhaps their lives and their future worsened. Food and energy independence for these people? Davos will guarantee that never happens.

For this to happen would entail a whole midset shift from our view that money and "things" are what to strive for....throwing off of capitalism.....but the first time humanity tried that it didn't end well. Now anything resembling the word "communal" or "social" instantly brings the gammons out of the woodwork in their Red-dread. With the rapid development of AI and robots, it will not be long before the VAST number of jobs filled by humans will be obsolete. If the current mindset prevails, then private interests will monetise this against humanity, creating HUGE gulfs in poverty......ultra rich and then everyone else. It will be Class-War like you have never seen before. There is enough wealth in the world to be shared so everyone has a good, basic standard of living....what is lacking is the political will to enact it.
