Minami Takahashi, 17, Sayaka Akimoto, 20, and other members of popular group AKB48 dressed up in in Chinese combat uniforms this week to promote the upcoming release of “Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li,” directed by Andrzej Bartkowiak.

The girls were dressed up as Chun-Li, the main character in the film based on the popular arcade game, which is now in its fourth version. The girls put on a performance which saw them dance around in kung-fu style. Akimoto said: “I’ve been learning aikido for ages, and it was great to use some of the moves today.”

"Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li" opens in cinemas on Saturday. Capcom has hinted at a possible "fifth" installment of "Street Fighter" depending on the success of "Street Fighter IV."

yomuri - of course I am right. Capcom is not wrong either. How about you read the article again. JT said this: "the popular arcade game, which is now in its fourth version." If you do play games, which I assume you do, we both know this is not the fourth arcade version nor is it the fourth release of this game.

Now JT goes on to say this, what Capcom had said: "Capcom has hinted at a possible “fifth” installment of “Street Fighter” depending on the success of “Street Fighter IV.” Here they go to say the fifth installment of Street Fighter, meaning that will be the fifth installment of the story. But fighting games don't have a story, so why a movie about a game. Will wonders never cease. Anyway, depending on how you read it, I can see how you misinterperted it. But really, who cares?

You should email them and let them know their mistake

yomuri, sorry, I forgot one more - Street Fighter EX and I won't count how many versions that one had either. You are free to count on both hands now.

LMAO

Ok yomuri, so where does SF Alpha come from? Or do you want to count 0-4. Let me try - 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4. I have 5 numerals, but I can only count 4. I have five different games, but one does not have a number on it, so it does not count. Want to try again?

Street Fighter 4 is technically the 4th Street Fighter game.

yes all of the other games have had different versions of them, but they r all based on whatever version the are extended from. SF3 W impact is still SF3, just a different version.

SF2 Hyper Fighting is still SF2, just a tweaked version of it

the article is correct

"Minami Takahashi, 17, Sayaka Akimoto, 20, and other members"

that is the perfect way to describe the group!

JT staff, I must again respectfully request larger pictures in these situations so I am better able to um, understand the news.

"...dressed up in in Chinese combat uniforms".

If that is true, then I can't wait for the Chinese to send their women over here to invade. I'll surrender into their arms as they land on the beaches!! Best Streetfigherists!!!

Can someone tell me where in Shibuya can I watch this movie tomorrow? Thank you.

Like many video game movies, the hype is high but the expectations are very very low.

Note: I did not count Marvel vs Capcom of SF vs X-men, cause the gameplay is changed.

That is not true, it's fourth version? If we want to go by the numbers, it is at least on 5. Not sure if I can remember all the types, Fighting Streer ot Stree Fighter, Street Fighter (SF) II, SF2 Championship edition, SF2 Turbo, Super SF2, SSF2T, SF Alpha or Zero, SFA2, SFA3, SF III, SF3 Second strike or double stike (not sure), SF3 third strike and now SF IV and I feel this one is awesome. Let me know if you want to play me on x-box live, I will give you on heck of a challenge.
