Aki Hoshino in good shape at 33

Aki Hoshino celebrated her 33rd birthday with a surprise birthday cake at a new product release event in Tokyo on Sunday, and vowed to "keep striving to be young so I don't get called an 'Oba-san.'"

Hoshino was promoting a new pair of leggings with a compression feature she helped develop, and used her own two shapely legs to show off the product. She explained she was making the proper efforts to avoid succumbing to middle age, saying, "Normally when I'm at home, I always walk around on tip-toes."

As Sunday was also White Day, Hoshino was asked whether her boyfriend, 20-year-old racehorse jockey Kosei Miura, properly returned her Valentine's favor or not. She brushed off the question by saying she had given out chocolates to everyone, then later adamantly stressed she had no plans to get married this year.

vowed to “keep striving to be young so I don’t get called an ‘Oba-san.’”

Stop being cute. Once you are 40 there are thousands more cute girls much younger than you and no one cares about you anymore. As an asset, get an education ...

She is proudly beating the drum of panic, while propping up the old mantra that being 'game' stops at a certain age... Older women own the elegance of knowing better...

In Japan girls aged 23 are already called "obasan", 33 years is senior >citizen.

That's true. But the ironic thing is that J-women look terrific into their 30s, 40s, 50s even into their 60s in some cases. Then they turn suddenly into little old granmas.

yeah, yeah...only on TV..I bet she sounds oba-san in real life. I've met some actresses before who look so elegant and refined on commercials and in reality....just like any ordinary J oba-san..lol

Pukey: You are right. Too much pressure on women to stay young-looking and cute here, even if that means doing things that aren't good for your body like walking on your toes all the time. And too many women who act younger than they really are in order to be desirable. It is sad that people don't value a woman who is mature and sexy from the inside out.

Hoshino was promoting a new pair of leggings with a compression feature she helped develop

Why on earth does she need to compress those legs of her? Aren't they skinny enough. She looks malnourished. Women like her are probably going to end up with weak bones and other health problems.

Let's just hope she doesn't have a sibling who has a child, then.

It's so sad when you see a 33 year old women still acting like a young teenager.

She was cute a few years back, but she's had too much plastic surgery and she's barely recognizable now. I can't look at her anymore.

Most women look good when you view them from a far until you get closer and look them in the eye. Even make can not cheat nature

She explained she was making the proper efforts to avoid succumbing to middle age, saying, “Normally when I’m at home, I always walk around on tip-toes.”

Ummm -this is one I missed on the anti-ageing websites.

Man she is soooo hot! I like her. Yummy

What is this? News about her birthday? They don't even mention the product she is promoting.

Given that she probably wears high heels most of the time outside, she would be better off not walking on her tip toes at home- she needs to stretch her Achilles tendons and calf muscles, which can be severely shortened by constant wearing of high heels.

Hope she has a plan B cause her days as a bikini model are probably not going to last much longer.

How is she in good shape if she used the legging she helped develop which had to compress her legs?
