Oops, sorry Amazon. NOT Netflix. Taking too much media, I guess...

This guy has written a nearly-identical book 26 times, and his audience either hasn't figured that out, or can't get enough of it. Go figure.

A much less talented critic of Vivaldi once said (as I heard it), "Vivaldi did not write a thousand concerti, he wrote one concerto a thousand times." Lee Child has probably never claimed to be this generation's James Joyce or Fyodor Dostoevsky and, having never read any of Child's prose, i cannot testify. But if the Netflix show is any example, I am looking forward to the next 25 seasons. Alan Ritchson seems to do a good job as the 'giant' at 6'2" albeit those missing three inches sometimes becomes apparent onscreen to someone who was 6'4" at USMC induction. Child's creativity at mayhem, if as fertile in future shows, is quite impressive. Given what has been said in this review, the hope of seeing Willa Fitzgerald in future seasons seems dim and that is sad as they seem a quite compatible and attractive pair. If you are beyond Ethanol and pharmaceuticals and use media mostly as your 'drug of choice', "Reacher" is a fine fix indeed...

Almost everything is a sequel nowadays anyway with unoriginal plots and CG all over the place. They just remade Scream which had three almost identical movies after the first. Give me an old Hitchcock movie or Cohen Brothers film instead.

Essentially these books are revenge fantasies for young men, which probably explains the similarities of plot and their continued success. I read one in which the murder weapon was paint. Fairly unusual, that. To be fair to Lee Child, why bother changing a winning formula?

"Cruise is under 6 foot"

That is very generous. I believe he is closer to 5 foot

Tom’s best and believable in the Mission Impossible series. Looking forward to a sequel for Cruise AND Emily Blunt’s “Edge of Tomorrow” aka “Live. Die. Repeat” (2014) aka “All You Need is Kill” manga.

Universal’s “Dark Universe”, particularly The Mummy (2017) needs to stay buried and fade away into the sands of time.

Will give this new Jack Reacher a watch. - The Tom Cruise’s Jack Reacher films were moderately engaging and the character’s intensity & fighting style with multiple opponents was believable. Yet, in comparison to what was envisioned by the author and fans, Tom didn’t stand up tall enough and imposing enough to warrant a third film.
