Hmmm. Why use a title that includes a derogatory term for women? Or is there something “deep” and “empowering” that I’m missing?

Yes, there is something deep and empowering that you are missing.

Well, Strangerland beat me to it. To women like the fictional characters in this movie, and to most other women like them, it's not a derogatory term. To men it is, but not for the woman. The clue is in the description: "a comedy for women and a horror film for men", But Strangerland beat me to it.

That’s a relief. Where would we be without smug know-it-all males to set the standards for mysoginy?
