Marriage without the physical act?
Kobe White Bar Owner
I know how he feels, im rich without the physical act.

Gay guy plays straight man, nobody bats an eye.
Straight man plays gay man and everybody loses their mind!
(imagine image of Joker here)

He's an actor trying hard to do his best to play a role. Bad awkward answers to probably some dumb questions that shouldn't even have been asked. Leave him alone and complainers should get a life.

This article is confusing. 2nd paragraph says he is currently not gay but may be gay in the future. 3rd paragraph says he is gay without the physical act. So which is it or my mind gone being close to midnight?
Dan Lewis
So.. he's a method actor?
commanteer
He could be a gay man pretending to be a straight actor playing a gay man on stage. Or possibly even a straight man pretending to be a gay man pretending to be a straight actor playing a gay man on stage.
Or maybe it just doesn't matter...

OH jeez, this is ridiculous. He's performing in Angels in America, playing a gay man who has AIDS and is dying. His words were in context to being asked questions about him being in the play and playing a gay man, to which he responded awkwardly. I think he was trying to be humorous and just missed the mark.

Benefit of the doubt. Did he mean he felt his sexuality is fluid, but didn't want to use that expression for fear of getting mocked?
Clumsy phrasing anyway.

Forgot that but it doesn't mean anything, really - kissing a member of the same sex.

Yeah, you're probably right, but I think it's better than giving some BS lie about how much he's "researched" the culture in order not to culturally appropriate or some such nonsense.
He's an actor. He's a straight guy playing a gay guy. He's supposed to be able to flip a switch at a moment's notice. Ru Paul is the shortest and easiest switch to make for a guy like this. It's like reading Cliff notes instead of original Shakespeare.

what is mean " without the physical act " ?? Remember he kissed Ryan Reynolds in the Golden Globes 2017 !
Toasted Heretic
I imagine it came over a bit flippant. Like a switch you can turn on and off.
Also:
Because RuPaul is the go to benchmark of being gay. Sigh.

People are too sensitive these days. How does what he said diminish the struggles of gay people?
Toasted Heretic
I believe human sexuality is anything but black and white. There's a potential to be straight, gay, bi etc. I admire those who don't even bother with labels and get on and enjoy life to the full. AG's comments remind me of similar remarks made by Brett Anderson over 20 years ago. Just get on with it, guys and girls. Life is way too short to worry what other people may say or think about you.

Isn't gay without the physical act just friends?
gokai_wo_maneku
Maybe he's just waiting for the right man.
