Model and singer Anna Tsuchiya, 28, said she was thrilled to dub the voice of 24-year-old Barbados singer Rihanna for the Japanese-language version of the science-fiction film "Battleship," directed by Peter Berg.
Based on a Hasbro game, "Battleship" is about an epic battle between an alien force known as "Regents" and a naval force based at Pearl Harbor. Rihanna plays Petty Officer and weapons specialist Cora Raikes.
Tsuchiya said she is a big fan of Rihanna. "Her voice is similar to my voice when I act, so it was easy to do the dubbing," Tsuchiya said. "There are many shouting scenes however. I worked out so I could do a good job imagining myself in the battle scenes."
Tsuchiya said she is interested in making a movie in Hollywood, but does not have confidence in her English ability. "Maybe if the role only called for shouting and fighting," she said.
"Battleship" opens in Japan on April 13.

Will it be Rihanna's real voice, or her karaoke, pre-recorded voice? :)

Never liked her. Something 'off' about her attitude, she even admits herself she was an aggressive lout back in her modelling days. Can't stand these wannabe tough people.

Wow. 2 thumbs down. Sorry, I meant to say the dubbed translations are always accurate down to every important nuance! My bad!

Oginome - I feel the same way about her, and I seriously thought I was the only one. Anna goes around acting like she's some 80s rock god and like she knows the real dirty side of fame when really, from what I've heard she starts trouble for no good reason because she wants a 'bad girl' rep. She's a mother now and I wish she'd stop acting like an emo 15 year old.

First Pearl Harbor and now this. Hollywood seems to have lost the ability to make a good Navy movie...

Lol, so true. Nothing more annoying that obnoxious attempts at tough girl/guy behaviour from people who grew up in cosy, middle class environment. Just acting tough to act tough, no substance behind the pseudo-rebebellion, just nastiness.

WTF?? SHe sounds nothing like Rihanna...lol. This woman is very annoying and has a terrible singing voice. I never thought she was all that attractive.
