Arisa Mizuki to play lone wolf teacher in new drama

Actress Arisa Mizuki, 32, takes on the role of a lone wolf teacher in the new TBS drama series, "O-hitori-sama" (Party of One), which starts Friday at 10 p.m. Mizuki's character fearlessly lives her life alone until she falls into an odd couple romance with a "herbivore man," played by co-star Teppai Koike, 23.

Mizuki said of the role, "I think the phrase 'o-hitori-sama' has a lot of impact; I really like it and want to paint an image of a woman people can empathize with."

Koike, who had recently been out with the flu, returned to filming on Oct 11 to a thunderous round of applause. "Everyone was really warm," he said.

let's get more more creative and write more interesting plots.

And stray outside the predictable, rehashed 'formula box'? Oh, wait-- we're talking about a creative industry, aren't we. Imagine if music and fashion took as many chances as the TV industry here.

Great! Last season we had the Konkatsu drama, now we've got herbivore prancer gets eaten up by older woman drama.

Any guesses on what next season's buzzword-inspired drama will be?
