This is such a sad story. I feel for all involved. No matter what the final outcome is, nothing with bring Halyna Hutchins back.

She was an amazing artist herself.

Alec thinks he is playing a lawyer in his next movie not a convict in real life.

When did Baldwin become a convict? I must have missed the part where he was found guilty of a crime.

I actually didn’t realize they would even use real guns on sets. Seems counterintuitive. What could possibly go wrong? Just kind of assumed they were realistic looking fakes.

Baldwin is being framed. The American 'right' has been taking over Hollywood. They will do anything to get thier way just like the 2016 election fraud issues. Baldwin is innocent!

Man, I hope you’re being sarcastic…

Lamely looking for any loophole he can to escape actual responsibility for what he has done.

Whereas Baldwin made an elementary gun handling error.

Hands in the air chap - it's called responsibility.

While big budget movies can afford to use prop guns and edit in the sound and visual of a gun firing, low budget films like Rust use real guns. The guns are supervised by a person called an armorer, who is in charge of all guns and ammunition on the set. The armorer is supposed to be the only one who handles the guns, other than the actors that are using them. The armorer ensures that the guns are properly loaded with blank ammunition before handing them off--or they're supposed to. No one else on the set is supposed to have access to the guns under the armorer's control, either.

It appears that the armorer for Rust, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, was inexperienced and forced to split her attention between her armorer's role and other duties on the set. It appears that, due to this, there were some issues with the guns under her control (reportedly unauthorized usage by other crew members who used the gun involved in the shooting for target practice) as well as lax security with the armory.

Gutierrez-Reed was not unfamiliar with firearms. Her father, Thell Reed, is a well-known armorer in Hollywood. His credits include Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Django Unchained, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Blade, and Tombstone.

By the way, prop guns are used at all levels of filmmaking when an actor needs to only be seen with a gun. As they are lighter than actual guns, they make it easier for the actors to do multiple takes without fatigue--for example, all the guns used in the close order drill sequences of Stripes were most likely prop guns and not real rifles.

The far right are loving the fact that a well-known liberal is looking at jail time over this accident. Of course they don't care about the poor woman who lost her life. It's all about owning the libs.

If Baldwin has personal responsibility, he should be made to take responsibility. The way that is determined is through a trial. Anyone who thinks they know if he is innocent or guilty based on their armchair detectiving, is a complete moron. Only a trial will be able to sort it out.

What is entirely stupid is the right trying to pretend they aren't making this into a culture war in retaliation for Baldwin belittling their Dear Leader Trump on SNL. So rather than focusing on whether he actually has done anything wrong or not, they shriek like banshees calling for his doom.

Which, should win them the election in 2024, right? America is loving the absence of policy, and prefer the politics of culture wars, grievance, anger, and owning the libs. That should win them an election.

”The far right”? I think you are seeing things that arent there. I actually like Alec Baldwin as an actor, sympathize with his current predicament but am dissapointed with his tactics and attitude to escape responsibility.

He killed someone and has ultimate responsibility for that. Oh, and Im not “far right”.
