Bay City Rollers coming back to Japan

Stuart "Woody" Wood, original guitarist and co-writer of many of the hits for the 1970s supergroup the Bay City Rollers, is bringing his new generation Bay City Rollers back to Japan this month.

Following tours in both Japan and the U.S. in 2018, the band just completed another highly successful tour in the U.S. in April. One music reviewer wrote that this band is ..."playing the songs with passion and fun - the way they were played four decades ago."

With hits such as "Saturday Night," "I Only Want To Be With You," "Rock & Roll Love Letter" and "You Made Me Believe in Magic," the boys from Scotland created a frenzy around the globe. Having sold over 120 million records, the Bay City Rollers captured the hearts of fans all over the world and those fans are still eager for the music! Today, original fans as well as an ever-growing number of new fans are turning up to sing and dance along to this timeless music.

The new Bay City Rollers, with Ian Thomson on lead vocals and guitar, Marcus Cordock on bass, and Jamie McGrory on drums, deliver all the iconic songs full of fun, power and passion, capturing the very essence of the band from days long ago.

My parents are sure to go! They were still playing their music during the 80s when I was a kid.

this is just one guitar player from the original band

Not even that. He wasn't yet in the group when I saw them in about 1970 in Edinburgh when they performed on the church youth club dance circuit. They were not cool among the blues and rock hipsters like myself. Ten years later in Japan, the first group of people I taught, when hearing I came from Scotland, said "Ah, Scotland, Bay City Rollers." I was horrified.

Bay City Rollers without the 5 original members. One member does not make them the BCRS. Alan was the BCRS. Don’t call yourself the Bay City Rollers with only 1 member. Won’t see them.

Bay City Roller. Singular.

Don't waste your money, this is just one guitar player from the original band, you may as well go to karaoke!

The old lead singer Les Mckeon still tours in a different band, at least the sound is similar!

It's the same way with other 'older' bands. 'Steely Dan' is just Don Fagan doing a disservice to his dead cowriter. 'The Eagles' is a DISGRACE. After Glenn Frey died Don Henley said the Eagles were over and then he hires Vince Gill and other hacks and calls it the Eagles anyway and is touring under that name, selling tix at $150 a pop. He's the only original Eagle left and he's had a stellar solo career (I grew up with his solo music and I love it). He's GREEDY! At least when Paul and Ringo have performed together (and they have), nobody billed it as the 'Beatles'. Some things you have to Let It Be.

We saw them in Salisbury Massachusetts. It was a fantastic show - brought back a ton of memories! We had an awesome time. Woody’s looking good and the new guys are great!

I just saw these guys in the USA a couple of weeks ago and they were fantastic. I followed the entire tour and loved the new life and energy they injected into the classic songs. You will certainly not be disappointed! Class act guys with loads of talent to boot!

Woody maybe the only original Bay City Roller in the group but he is bringing our memories of the past back to life again in the USA.
