Brian Wilson was the creative force behind the Beach Boys success, who with their easy surfin' sound made a legendary contribution toe music in the 60's and 70's.

Very sad to read how profoundly he is struggling now.

He's a beautiful soul.

A very sad ending to his life.

It was a great band.

Genius has its price, as Brian Wilson, the "father" of the Beach Boys, has long known. We can only hope that among his seven children are some kindly ones who will give their lost soul of a father the love and care he needs in his final days. Those of us whose lives were brightened by his music will wish the family well in getting through their tragedy.

Not a big fan of the Beach Boys (which song has deeply poetic lyrics?) But they were for a lot of people something great. It's kind of sad to see someone in this condition. This is especially knowing that Al Jardine and Mike Love are still alive but both or Brian's brothers died long ago. An iconic group and Brian was the brains behind the success. Not a big fan but they did have that identifiable sound and millions of fans.

Pet Sounds was when he finally broke free of his father's overly dominant presence and came into his own as a professional musician.

The Smile Sessions is the best piece of music I’ve ever heard. He’s a genius

Had it not been for the Beatles, I think I heard the Beach Boys would have been the biggest selling group of the 60s. The biggest selling foreign group in Japan in the 60s was neither of them. It was The Ventures.
