Becky in hot water over rumored affair

Popular "talent" Becky, 31, known for her squeaky-clean image, is in hot water after reports surfaced in Japanese tabloid media this week that she was having an affair with Enon Kawatani, 27, a vocalist of the popular band Gesu no Kiwami Otome.

Kawatani, who secretly married last summer, met Becky in October. Gesu no Kiwami Otome made their debut appearance on NHK's "Kohaku Uta Gassen" music variety program on New Year's Eve. Usually, performers with any hint of scandal are not invited to perform on the show.

Becky, who is half-British, has been very popular in Japan since she was a child for her energetic character and positive messages she presents to the public. She has never had any scandals until now and tearfully apologized at a news conference on Thursday. She said she first found out Kawatani was married when he told her in November. She told reporters she had been to his concerts and that they dined together but insisted they were just friends.

Becky currently appears in 10 commercials. However, the contracts may be gone after this scandal, media reported Friday.

Sun Music Production Corp, Becky's management company, said that one of her 10 sponsors has already indicated it will replace the commercial with Becky in it to another version featuring another "talent" if the rumor turns out to be true, Sports Nippon reported.

Some of Becky's contracts will end on Jan 31 but the sponsors have stated that they do not intend to renew her contract.

A source at one ad agency was quoted as saying, "If Kawatani were not married, it would not have damaged Becky's image this much. However, in this case, it is natural to think that they were having an affair. Although she denies it, it will have an effect on her marketability in TV commercials."

The scandal broke on Wednesday after Shukan Bunshun revealed it had seen LINE messages in which Kawatani reportedly said he wanted to marry Becky if he could divorce his wife. Becky and Kawatani are said to have spent Christmas eve together and New Year with Kawatani's family in Nagasaki after which photos of the couple started appearing in tabloids.

After the scandal broke, Kawatani went public with his marriage. Prior to that, he had told reporters his wife was a friend. He also said that he and Becky were just friends.

Another on bites the dust.

Wait, this is just stupid. Kawatani is the one who is married, so he, not Becky, is the one "having an affair". Why is she the one taking heat over this?

Oh, right, because she is a girl and he is a guy and this is the Japanese entertainment industry we are talking about. Got it.

49 ( +54 / -8 )

Becky is highly annoying anyway. No loss if she is not on the screen.

10 ( +17 / -9 )

The Japanese media/public can be such uptight hypocrites sometimes.

21 ( +23 / -2 )

If Kawatani were not married, it would not have damaged Becky’s image this much.

Surely if he were not married, it should not have damaged Becky's image at all! And if at first she didn't know he was married, then she was blameless to that point. Though, it sounds like she did not immediately end things when she did find out, so she does have responsibility for that part. And anyone in her position must know how the commercial sponsors would react, childish though that may seem from a non-Japanese perspective.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Wait, this is just stupid. Kawatani is the one who is married, so he, not Becky, is the one "having an affair".

Exactly. The industry is using her like a scapegoat because she is a woman. And the fact that she wined & dined (probably did a little more too) with this dude illustrates that she actually does "have a life."

Leave her alone.

11 ( +16 / -5 )

So why isn't the married man doing the apologising? What exactly does this say about men and women in Japan? No, it doesn't reflect well on anyone to be "the other woman" or "the other man" but she is not the one committing adultery here.

25 ( +27 / -2 )

@powderb

What exactly does this say about men and women in Japan?

I think we know the answer to that one just quietly! The whole jimusho approach is a joke.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

Cue the faux outrage.. oh adults did adult stuff... big whoop..

19 ( +19 / -0 )

...i hope she sues the hell out of that two timing guy...

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Come on Becky! It's all fun until you bite the dust. There is no way she couldn't have known that guy is married.

0 ( +8 / -8 )

What talents, idols or entertainers do in their private life should be their OWN business as LONG as they don't hurt anyone.

Japan really needs to recheck the rules/boundaries/laws of the people in the entertainment business/

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Becky's eyes kinda freak me out, and I don't watch Japanese television. But I'd support a boycott of any sponsor that ditches her because of this.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

Go Becky! Get yr man!

3 ( +4 / -1 )

I saw the news conference with the media. She did the shameful apology, and the long bow with the normal one thousand camera clicks and flashes. I doubt he will apologize because he's a rock star. I never seen any of those guys apologize for having affairs.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

Any truth to the rumor that Kawatani's wife is pregnant?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

There is no way she couldn't have known that guy is married.

You know, other than the fact that he hid it from the entire country until now. But of course she knew what no one else did.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

I don't think it is that severe now. You know that member of SMAP, Kusanagi, who was found naked and drunk in front of his Tokyo Midtown apartment building ("What wrong with being naked?") is still around. I think she has staying power. This will blow over in a month or two.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

I wonder how many of Becky's 10 sponsors own love motels?

3 ( +5 / -2 )

There was a female newscaster who was seen by a sharp-eyed photographer trying to sneak out of the Hotel New Otani one morning, obviously in the midst of some sort of torrid affair. When he approached her in a judgemental way as if to imply "naughty, naughty!" she confronted him with the question, "Hey, do you know how old I am?" The meaning being that acts between consenting adults are none of the public's business. Her image actually picked up after this story went public. She was a few years over age 40, by the way.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

I just googled Enon Kawatani. He looks like a skinny wimp. Beck could've done waaayy-- better than him. What does any girl see in someone like that?

6 ( +12 / -6 )

A lot of girls like that.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Ironically, the sponsors will probably get more publicity by announcing that they are dropping her than they would ever get by running the actual ads.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

I saw the news conference with the media. She did the shameful apology, and the long bow with the normal one thousand camera clicks and flashes.

@Vernie

Here is footage of the "emergency" press conference (緊急会見): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d41Jn9_fDU4

You can hardly hear her speak above the noise of all the camera shutters. It's absurd the amount of press coverage this gets in Japan, and the extent to which it becomes THE topic of conversation everywhere.

I hope she can slip out of the country for a few months and escape the continual media harassment.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

Why should this damage Becky's image? Is SHE married? No! What about Kawatani? Probably already being back-patted by the boys.

12 ( +16 / -4 )

What a sorry excuse for a man, Kawatani is a rotter, bounder, cad, a selfish scoundrel. Humiliated his wife, hoodwinked hapless love struck and blameless Becky on a right merry go round of lies and deceit........That it, a double helping of 'bunny boiling' tonight, Gone Girl followed by Fatal Attraction!!...

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Wait, this is just stupid. Kawatani is the one who is married, so he, not Becky, is the one "having an affair". Why is she the one taking heat over this?

Oh, right, because she is a girl and he is a guy and this is the Japanese entertainment industry we are talking about. Got it.

Exactly my thoughts. Hello, double standard. And we don't even know if they were having an affair or if they really were just friends. Guys and gals can be pals. This whole thing is stupid along with being ridiculously unfair to Becky.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

Gesu no Kiwami Otome. / indigo la End’s Kawatani Enon Is Secretly Married and Having Affair with Becky

http://aramajapan.com/news/gossip/gesu-no-kiwami-otome-indigo-la-ends-kawatani-enon-is-secretly-married-and-having-affair-with-becky/53706/#more-53706

The 'apology' is remarkable, Becky has been hung out to swing in the wind. Surreal and strange

3 ( +3 / -0 )

So it turns out Japan is uniquely unique - for hypocritical double standards that crucify women and NOT the married men that have affairs. Let's not hold our breath to see if Kawatani even so much as has a TV appearance cancelled for his sleeping around on his wife, and let's bet his wife will also blame Becky as all other women married to these "talents" do, and not her scum bag husband. Yep, uniquely unique. I support Becky 100% on this one.

7 ( +8 / -1 )

She didn't shave her hair off? You'd think she would have checked out Kawatani's page on wikipedia and seen that he was married.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

the way this story is written is why there is so much outrage at the man instead of becky. the scandal is due to the fact that she supposedly knew he was married, which was only briefly mentioned in the penultimate paragraph. shukan bunshun reported quite a few messages from line about their correspondences, all of which were quite lovey-dovey. both becky and the singer deny the liason, and i'm guessing they will continue to deny them until real proof is had.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Wow, so thats it for Becky. Sad. I have been watching her ever since I came here 7 years ago. I hope Matso Deluxe doesnt have an affair because he/she is my favourite.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Also, in addition to Kusanagi who I mentioned above, remember last year talent Lora (ローラ)'s Iranian father got in trouble in a National Healthcare scandle, taking money for fake overseas treatment. People said that was the end of here career, but she is still around. Becky will be OK.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

You'd think she would have checked out Kawatani's page on wikipedia and seen that he was married.

If she would have checked his Wikipedia page, it would not have said he was married.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

gokai - Lora's "appeal" is/was very different from Becky's. Becky has always played very sweet, virginal type (expect for her latest car commercial) so a scandal, particularly a sex scandal, could be a lot more damaging to her career

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Must be past her shelf life as the 'cute young innocent half-white tarento.' They probably have a new one groomed and waiting in the wings.

6 ( +7 / -1 )

Wow, so thats it for Becky. Sad. I have been watching her ever since I came here 7 years ago. I hope Matso Deluxe doesnt have an affair because he/she is my favourite.

Was that sarcasm? I just can't tell.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Well, out of all of this, I hope she gets a new haircut, as the bar code sweep over her forehead is not becoming.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

I hope she sticks around. She's massively annoying but casually dating a guy you didn't know was married (or hell, even if she did know) shouldn't be a reason she loses her career and livelihood. Especially considering, I suspect, Kawatani won't be put under the same social ostracization. Just a hunch.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

I wonder if her dad is going to pay him a visit. Saw him once on TV when she did a prank. It was probably set up but it looked like he was not a fella to take that sort of thing lightly from any one he thought was a predator.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Until the media receive a FAX from the artist's management, it is just a rumour.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

She always did seem quite fake, as if she were acting Japanese. It's ridiculous that she should be blamed for this.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Never did like Becky, she had a condescending attitude and was so phony. I'm sure she knew Kawatami was married. She must like younger men. Kawatami is a worm for lying to the public about his marriage. They both deserve to be ostracized.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Wait, this is just stupid. Kawatani is the one who is married, so he, not Becky, is the one "having an affair". Why is she the one taking heat over this?

I very much agree. But this is Japan, where if you have an affair with a married person, their spouse can sue you (so be careful!).

But she will pay dearly because she was "known for her squeaky-clean image". I guess now she can be more herself.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

It is easy to wag a finger and scold Becky for not giving Kawatani, his marching orders in November when Kawatami dropped the marriage bomb shell, 'don't let the door hit you on the way out'.

Alas cupids arrow had hit the sweet spot, irresistibly intense desire is more addictive then the strongest drug. Becky,(yes these 'talents' can be irritating), throughout the "emergency" press conference, visibly shaken knew her world has fallen apart, the humiliation was unbearable to watch.

kudos to Sensato for the posting the clip

0 ( +1 / -1 )

What a load of archaic patriarchal toss. She should have given them all the proverbial finger at the press conference, a la Erika Swajiri and told them to mind their own ..... business. It's the guy that should be on his knees begging for.....hang on, that's got nothing to do with the public or press either.

It's nobody's business but theirs.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

She said she first found out Kawatani was married when he told her in November.

Becky and Kawatani are said to have spent Christmas eve together and New Year with Kawatani’s family in Nagasaki

She knew

0 ( +1 / -1 )

It's all been said above.

She is single. He is married. She is dragged and ostracized in front of the media. Japan is really pathetic at times.

It's as if affairs never happen in this country.

9 ( +11 / -2 )

In my personal opinion, I think her management agency in PR handled this very bad, although her conversations were incriminating and that statement was a big foot in her mouth, I think, she should have just kept her mouth shut, neither deny, nor confirm it. I wouldn't have said anything to the hungry press. The press is going to print whatever they want to print, no reason for giving them a noose to aid them. I could care less what the girl does in her private life, it's her business and doesn't affect my life one bit, that the press and people would make this a huge issue is in my opinion pathetic.

But again, that's just my personal opinion.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

So why isn't the married man doing the apologising? What exactly does this say about men and women in Japan? No, it doesn't reflect well on anyone to be "the other woman" or "the other man" but she is not the one committing adultery here

This is not just a Japan thing. Case in point, Kristen Stewart was having an affair with the director of Snow White. People came down hard on her but he was the married one. Basically we live in a World where a man who sleeps around is a "player" and a woman who does it is called far worse things.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

I am no fan of Becky & while almost anything that cuts down on silly CMs I wud be for, this isn't one of them.........

Hopefully goof ball in the band I have never heard of takes some DESEVED heat for HIS affair!!

And why would this goof ball keep his marriage secret, is he ashamed or something........

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Good, at least there's some honor in the sanctity of marriage in some countries.

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

It takes 2 to commit adultery. Adultery is against the law in many states in the US and in this case the wife could sue easy becky for Alienation of affection for Big Bucks.

-7 ( +0 / -7 )

Kawatami is a worm for lying to the public about his marriage.

Help me understand this. Why does anyone care that he told everyone he was single. If his wife is...was ok with it, why do you care? There was a Brit from a famouse rock band in the 60's that tried to keep his marriage secret as well. He ended up getting divorced and marrying a Japanese girl and lived happily ever after.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

For once Bass and I are in agreement.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Kawatami been disrespectful and spiteful to Miwa. Right to his opinion, but Miwa? a case of "kick the cat syndrome" .

0 ( +0 / -0 )

She doesn't have any choice as to whether or not to apologize. Sun Music (the company that manages her) basically owns her and they tell her what she can do, can't do and has to do. Amazing as it may sound she is probably on a fixed monthly or annual salary and is, for all intents and purposes, an employee who has to do what she is told. Sun created her and Sun sells her in the same way other companies sell products but, in her case, she is the product.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

Who cares? She's an entertainer and she's providing it in any way, shape or form isn't she?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

Becky? Is that the new robotic greetings girl.... shame on her.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

She must be pretty stupid to carry out the affair with a married guy. One phone call by here management would confirm his status. Unless she is horribly stupid she would have had her agency vet the guy.

Anyway, first time for me to see her. If she walked by me on the street I would not give her even a glance. She looks like a stick with big eyes.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Hi serendipitous, Absolutely, in fact at a glance it appears Sun music group own/manage/control them all, there way or the highway....

<http://www.sunmusic.org/talent/ >

0 ( +0 / -0 )

First Kawatami wife should sue him! Second Becky should sue him. Third since they say Beck is British and slightly avoiding she is part Japanese. If I were Becky I would bow out take the money and run, go live in Britain happily ever after!!!

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Oh, right, because she is a girl and he is a guy and this is the Japanese entertainment industry we are talking about. Got it.

More likely BOTH are in hot water, but his pot is going to be boiled by his wife. In Becky's case, apparently most of her popularity has been due to the wholesome image she crafted. That image has been shattered.

The only way she could salvage this is if she broke things off as soon as he told her in November that he had secretly gotten married the previous month. If she continued any relations after that then - justified or not - she has become a "homewrecker".

0 ( +1 / -1 )

One of the things I hate about Japan. There's no need for a public apology. This is no one's business except the 2 people involved and their respective partners.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

According to statistics, there is a sixty-five percent chance that the love of your life is having an affair. Be very suspicious. People don't cheat by chance, they cheat by choice.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Only I can say this to her , " Baka !" and to him " Oo Baka mon!!

0 ( +1 / -1 )

There's no need for a public apology. This is no one's business except the 2 people involved and their respective partners.

Also this. Although I suppose I'm being hypocritical by having an opinion. It just seriously stinks to see Becky being tarred and feathered publicly while the guy in question gets a couple of shots at work or walking down the street, then a cut back to Becky groveling in front of the cameras. It's disgusting and demeaning. And it's solely because she's a woman. Whether or not she knew he was married and continued an affair isn't even the point-- that's between the three people involved. The point is even if that's the case, why is Becky the one being publicly pilloried? The ONLY one being publicly pilloried. Until this kind of double standard ingrown misogyny is rooted out and Japan's gender relations join the 21st century instead of the 1950s all this "Women are the whatever arrow" nonsense is worse than hot air and boneheaded male bluster by Abe and the Old Boys in Charge. Japan desperately needs its women, but it needs them for leadership and for ideas. Right now Japan treats them as pets at best, as property at worst.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

This guy sounds like a creep!

2 ( +2 / -0 )

It's not all patriarchy at work. Becky is an entertainer who makes a living by promoting a squeaky clean image. The guy in this case is an entertainer who makes a living by promoting a bad boy image.

She gets paid by sponsors who want someone squeaky clean and unthreatening to promote their products. Thus she needs to keep her image clean if she wants to continue collecting paychecks.

He gets paid by fans who want to moon over his limp-wristed bad boy image. Thus a little scandal like this is a career booster at best, a minor issue at most.

Both rely more on image than talent to make very comfortable livings. Thus it's their responsibility to make sure their public image stays clean. I do agree witH Bass that her press conference was the biggest mistake. They had nothing but conjecture on her, and it would have blown over if she had just kept quiet about it.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

[Kawatani] and his band on the other hand, were virtually unknown until recently.

@Educator

One unfair irony of this whole situation is that news of the affair is likely to seriously damage, or even end, Becky's career as a top celebrity, but previously virtually unknown Kawatani has now become a household name. This was dinner-time conversation at between the Mrs. and the kids last night, as I am sure it was in households across Japan (I gladly stayed out of that conversation).

Anyway, this is likely to substantially boost his career, and from this point forward he will always be known as the guy who had an affair with Becky.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

As for him keeping his marriage secret, I've read a lot of entertainers do that so that they do not disappoint their fans. Especially if they have a lot of young female fans. So it is natural that Becky didn't know at first, but once she found out, and she continued with the relationship, even going to his parents house for New Years, she had to know she was putting her self and career at risk. My question is how did the weekly magazine get a hold of their private Line conversations? If the guy leaked them, then he is a real low life!

2 ( +3 / -1 )

Damn, I saw his picture and this guy is no catch! She could do better! I think she deserves to get heat for this !!

4 ( +6 / -2 )

The whole story is a sham. Do you really believe all these young pretty women on TV have no sex life? Their sex lives start with the directors and producers of the programs and continues to many others they need for their contracts. The truth is that somebody decided Becky needed to be replaced by a newer face, and what would be an interesting scandal to show the force of the Media to the Japanese public, in bringing justice to the society!

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

Blame it on the gossip gene, that Christmas Eve, Becky and Kawatani allegedly enjoyed, you would agree has turned rather pear shaped.......

Full article of Becky and Kawatani Enon in Bunshun......more details......

Another snippet tells about Kawatani showing up as a surprise while Becky was in Osaka working on 19th December. She was very touched and wrote “Kenchan, thanks for coming to Osaka. How much will does that take? I’m already very touched when i see people holding hands in the streets. I was really happy, thank you”

I could have helped Becky out on that, short flight, and Taxi ride......Had Kawatani swam and hitched a lift that would have been impressive.

https://allthingsjpop.wordpress.com/tag/kawatani-enon/

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I really don't get the way those apologies are conducted. At first upon my arrival in Japan, i was truly impressed by how people apologized here, showing they are the bigger men, and that they can acknowledge their own errors.

But to see a consenting adult woman apologized for getting involved with a consenting adult man, this is just pitiful. There is absolutely nothing to even apologize to the public for.

In Japan, people get away with pushing their workers to work to death, with mother harassment, with idols forced not to be romantically involved (contrary to human rights), with discriminating against foreigners, and a whole lot of things that cause harm to people, the society, and leads to unspoken disorders, mental or physical.

But a famous person doing what a solid third of the population does, and this is worse than murder. The hypocrisy and the irony are mind-blowing. I mean, does anybody think in Japan anymore? Has nobody ever thought of why there are so many love hotels everywhere, especially at highway exits? Those are not for students with no place to live. Those are for business people "enjoying" on their way back to their families. Nobody cares about this, and now people like Becky have to take the whole blame? "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone" is obviously not something people live by here.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

Ha, ha. Lovely. What we need from JT now are MOAR details!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Third since they say Beck is British and slightly avoiding she is part Japanese.

She's given up her British nationality.

If I were Becky I would bow out take the money and run, go live in Britain happily ever after!!!

There wouldn't be any of this insane nonsense about public apologies at press conferences for personal behaviour, but I doubt if TV producers would be queueing up to offer her work...

3 ( +3 / -0 )

Who is the Enon Kawatani? The guy with rat faces from Gesu no Kiwami Otome? It's unfair to scold Becky. She has done nothing wrong. Becky dated the guy who was secretly married because she does not know he was married. Why don't peoples give her second chance if she has made mistake? Everyone deserves second chance.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

It's abundantly clear that Kawatani was a double-dealing asshat here, lying to both Becky and his own wife. That Japanese companies would react the way they seem geared to is childish in the extreme.

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Why don't peoples give her second chance if she has made mistake?

Sensible, decent people would. The people running Japanese "talent" management agencies, and the TV execs responsible for the inane drivel that passes for entertainment here, on the other hand...

7 ( +8 / -1 )

i'm having this crazy thoughts that 'if' this whole thing was 'planned' by him.. because their new song title is 両成敗 meaning 'both to be blamed'. somehow this song title and lyrics fit the situation.. and this whole thing definately made him (and his band) much more famous.. knowing that the media won't be covering this scandal after a month or so...

plus, the LINE conversations and photos between him and Becky... what if he intentionally 'leaked'.

i know this is crazy thoughts but this is like a perfect 'promotion' of the new song. the song is now the top of the chart.

sorry for Becky but she probably lost more than he did.. or, he has gained by this whole thing if any.

just my thoughts.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

The media should definitely be grilling the dude and not Becky.

However......he had told Becky in November that he was married and she still chose to spend Xmas eve with him and New Year's with his family. She's in show business - she should have known better. She took the risk of being accused of hanging out with a married man.

While I do think that the media is overreacting, the sponsors wanting to drop her is shoganai IMO.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Bye bye Becky.....

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

The media should definitely be grilling the dude and not Becky.

Well, she makes her money off them, and therefore had to go on an do the whole apology thing, and take the fall. Not saying there isn't gender bias, but the guy makes a living because of his musical talent, while Becky makes money for simply being nice and bubbly on camera. So when something like this threatens the nice part of her image, its natural she has to deal with it.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

Popular “talent” Becky, 31, known for her squeaky-clean image, is in hot water

This clause encapsulates a lot about Japan. Let's unpack it:

"Talent" -- the particular version of celeb/commercial artist/eye candy/seat filler of any sort. I think Japan invented this kind of TV personality.

Becky: a half-Japanese talent. hyphenated Japanese became all the rage in the past 10 years.

31: I know of no other country that commonly states the age of someone in the news

Squeaky-clean image: not unique to Japan, but nonetheless a staple for marketing celebs.

In hot water: Again, not unique, but Japan really likes to gossip.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

But to see a consenting adult woman apologized for getting involved with a consenting adult man, this is just pitiful. There is absolutely nothing to even apologize to the public for.

For the average adult you might be correct. But Becky's "image" had been groomed and cultivated to present a squeaky-clean image. That was her "hook" - what made her stand out from the crowd. To be caught in an adulterous affair totally destroys that image. Now she's just another woman in heat who doesn't care if she's a homewrecker. The apology was just a weak attempt to right a sinking ship. Yes, I understand that when adultery is concerned "it takes two to tango", but the guy didn't base his career on being a goody-2-shoes. If anything, it may ENHANCE his career (though I'm sure his wife has his huevos in a vise and turning the screw right about now.)

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

It's really none of the public's business, we should respect the privacy of all parties in this matter. It certainly shouldn't affect their careers. Japan is NOT the Islamic State or Saudi Arabia. People should be able to manage their personal lives however they see fit (genuine criminality aside). Also why is it always the woman who gets blamed? We don't know who is responsible in this case, it could be any of the three people involved, all or none.

1 ( +1 / -0 )

lol? Isn't he the one who was married in the first place and lying about his marriage. I was about to get some of their songs on itunes but not any more. Double standards much?

1 ( +1 / -0 )

I hope Becky is doing well. Why are so many people so critical. None of us are perfect by no means. How can everyone expect her to be so perfect. Its absurd. I'm afraid for her and hope she is doing well. Sending many prayers and strength her way..
