Popular TV personality Becky, 31, took part in a light-up event for the opening of Tokyo Dome City’s Winter Illuminations on Tuesday night in line with the country’s preparation for the holiday season.

Dressed in a long, red skirt, the British-Japanese celebrity opened the event with a short talk on her recollections of Christmas, saying that she always celebrated the holiday season with her family only, eating turkey and opening presents on the morning of Dec 25.

“It wasn’t until I was in junior high school that I heard from my friends that they actually spend Christmas with their buddies - it made me very surprised, because for me that day had always been a family event,” she said, explaining that despite being raised in Japan, her family always celebrated Christmas in Western style rather than in Japanese.

Crowds of people had gathered to get a glimpse of the multi-talented idol, with some lining up for a seat from over six hours prior to the event. Becky, who is a singer, TV personality and actress, is enormously popular in Japan, largely due to her cheerful and down-to-earth personality.

During the event, Becky also performed two original songs, the up-tempo “Kaze no Shirabe” and “Fuyuzora no Love Song,” a ballad she apparently wrote spontaneously during one of her frequent travels abroad for work.

The event culminated with the light-up of “Galaxy Dome,” a 10-meter-high, 12-meter diameter “mini Tokyo dome” that serves as one of the main illumination attractions of the site.

Tokyo Dome City Winter Illuminations, which also includes the 140-meter-long “Milky Way Tunnel” and the 80-meter-long pop “Luminous Tunnel,” runs through February 14, 2016.

Already 31? I remember when my sons used to watch her on the kiddies shows on NHK way back when.

Becky is cute just a tad too skinny for my taste. She has beautiful eyes.

If she grew up with having turkey for christmas, it means she had a big oven...which means she came from a family with money as turkey's are way over priced here.

It's good they've written her age because of lot of the women here do tend to act like 12 year olds.

Yeah, we didn't need to know her age. That said, Becky is adorable.

Moderator: Absolutely no reason to insult Becky.

My fave Becky question to the locals: Is she Japanese? Answer: No, she's half.
