Bidder pays Y3.52 mil for rights to photograph former Miss Universe Riyo Mori

The rights to photograph Miss Universe 2007, Riyo Mori, 23, were auctioned off on Yahoo! Japan to raise money for charity last month, with the winning bid reaching 3.526 million yen, organizers said Monday.

Mori is a goodwill ambassador for the charity “BEYOND THE BORDER PROJECT” for Doctors Without Borders, which organized the auction.

The final bid price closed at 10 a.m. on Sunday.

The bidder, who has not been named, will photograph Mori at a studio in Tokyo prepared by Doctors Without Borders, after discussing with the staff how Mori should be dressed for theoccasion.

Prior to the auction closing, Mori said: "I wanted to participate in an activity that would save lives, even though I'm not a doctor or a nurse."

Wow! So the bidder can completely control what she does or does not wear? Sounds good.

I hope it is not the innovative lingerie we were shown the other day.

I am pretty upset at the paltry amount raised by this stunt. Furthermore, I hope the lucky winner has a bit of decorum and taste.

Can the winner PLEASE post the photos here on JT as photo(s) of the day?

My guess is that after "discussion with the staff" Miss Mori will be fully clothed. Aside from being gorgeous, she has smarts and a real desire to contribute. Hats off to her.

She'd make a good nurse... perhaps that's the photo shoot theme!

One person is paying a lot of money for what may be an hour or two - this is not paltry. Have you ever tried to raise money in Japan (cue three page response....)??

“I wanted to participate in an activity that would save lives, even though I’m not a doctor or a nurse.”

If she had only gone with an activity that creates lives....

I hope it isn't some rich nerd who fancies photography but sucks at it, and won't share the pictures...

I am pretty sure it is a fashion or similar company.

She said she most likely will NOT consider a Bikini shoot and her clothing will need to be approved by the staff.

I wonder if the photographer is allowed to bring a water gun.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion about Ms. Mori's beauty, but if were standing next to her, my knees would shake.

I met her at a charity event before she was famous. She's good looking, but if you told me she was going to win Ms. Universe I wouldn't have believed you.

Alright. I'll put some of them up here when I finish the shoot.

Well one photo you can sell for around $5000 to the right mag or paper, so it's not really a bad investment for the photographer considering the number of papers and mags that will want a copy

Maybe she will wear one of those see through raincoats. Present female criticism excepted.

She's good looking but I can't believe she was actually Ms.Universe! She isn't THAT good looking!

space missing there... and I think she should wear one of the 1960's Star Trek outfits.

She is gorgeous - anyone who says otherwise is deluded.
