“Do I turn my back on people that live here because of politics? No, that’s not the way we were built. So, you know, there’s beautiful people here as well as beautiful people in Palestine. And one day we want to go there too.”

Good for them. Don't bend for that BDS bs.

Will.i.am was in Israel to take part in an innovation conference held by Improvate, an Israeli organization that works to advance Israeli technology.

Ditto what Mocheake wrote.

It would be insanity to cave into the demands of a terrorist group anyway.

If celebrities have the right to make political statements, they have the right to not make political statements too, so I don't see much wrong with this even though I am very much on the Palestinian side of this debate. They aren't coming out and waving Israeli flags either, they simply seem like they don't want to get involved.

Though I suppose the argument could be made that not making a statement is, in itself, a statement. Sometimes it can be impossible to straddle that fence.

Don’t bend to threats from fascist leftists.

Although I can understand why boycotts are called for, I think the logic is flawed. Governments do bad things. All of them. But boycotts hit ordinary people. I don't have a veto over what my government does, and I wouldn't consider it fair for anyone to target me in response to what Clown Leader has been getting up to. Why should I treat Japanese people badly over the issue of state supported whaling or the slaughter of dolphins. Most Japanese people would never voluntarily eat whale meat, and if handed a baseball bat would decline to bash out the brains of a dolphin. You are only responsible for what you do, not for what your government does.

Ordinary people are the same the world over: a mix of good and bad, nice and not so nice, most just trying to get by. Governments are the same the world over: deceitful, untrustworthy, conniving and unethical.

Convoluting citizens and government is a bad thing. We all have more in common with the citizens of every other nation on the planet - Israel, Palestine, China, America or Russia - than we have with the wealthy, manipulative and untrustworthy members of our own governments.
