Like tears in the rain.

RIP, Rutger.

One of my favorite actors when I was young. I watched a lot of his movies, some of which didn't age so well. But Blade Runner has. RIP Mr. Hauer. Thanks for the entertainment.

My 3 favorite Rutger Hauer films of all time are Surviving the Game, The Hitcher and Blind Fury. All 3 of those I have watched every 5-10 years after their releases. RIP dude! Played a hero well but he shook me up when he was a villain lol

The greatest line in ALL of movie history, and apparently from other sources, he wrote it in: "Time to die..." Requiescat in pace, my Sir.

Loved him in The Hitcher and Blade Runner. His characters had a certain evil charm. RIP.

I never knew he wrote most of Roy's monologue himself. To come up with the most quoted part of a Philip K. Dick-inspired movie is impressive. RIP.

One of the most famous sci-fi quotes of all time at that!

Time to die. But he'll be back as a Nexus 6. How do I know this? I've seen things you people wouldn't believe...

I'm a little devastated to read about this, I've a load of his movies sitting on my DVD shelf at home as he is one of my all time favourite actors.

RIP.

It appears that both Rutger Hauer and Roy Batty died in 2019. Coincidence?

This is an emotional news. As a Blade Runner fan, I think the movie would have been great without him, but he's the reason it became the cult classic it is.

Thank you.

It appears that both Rutger Hauer and Roy Batty died in 2019. Coincidence?

The human Batty that the replicant was based on came out to kidnap Holden from the hospital and give him a new set of lungs in the book Blade Runner 2 The Edge of Human by K.W. Jeter.

@Bif Yen

I think it is the quintessential Sci-Fi movie because it's not only gorgeous to watch but it raises very pertinent, and not easily answered, questions about humanity's use of technology.

I don't want to be one of those people (I just have to be), but they really don't make movies the way they used to. Blade Runner, Alien, Terminator, these movies were made over 35 years ago.
