I’ll take the word of the huge numbers of artists who cite him as an influence and the countless covers of his songs.

I like his protest stuff but my favorites would include Love Minus Zero/No limit, I threw it all away, If not for you, It’s all over now baby blue, She belongs to me, One of us must know and Simple Twist of fate.

Take all of his ‘voice of a generation stuff’ and you’ve still got things of real beauty.

Some may not like Dylan’s style but to say he’s overrated is an insult. He directly influenced The Beatles and everyone who came after him in one way or another. If it wasn’t for Dylan the Beatles would have continued writing songs about wanting to hold your hand.
