I grew up with the Clash, and their 1979 US self-titled album is a bonafide classic. I got into 'Toots' later on. In 2020 he released an excellent critically acclaimed CD starring several guests incl. Zak Starkey (son of Ringo Starr) and Ziggy Marley. It's called 'Got To Be Tough:'. Sad to say, it would be his last. CoVid took Toots' life exactly one week after the CD release. It was either August or September 2020, a CoVid vaccine had not been found yet.

Yeah! “London Calling”. - Don’t think The Clash ever covered anyone

Oh yes they did. 'Toots' Mayall's 'Pressure Drop' and one their US self-titled album (1979 release) they covered 'I Fought the Law' by Bobby Fuller Four.

Yeah! “London Calling”. - Don’t think The Clash ever covered anyone, much less Bobby Rydell. But Bobby did chart the Top Ten with Wild One in the U.K. in ‘63 and influenced Macca to write The Beatles’ She Loves You in ‘64.

Good news for your family @starpunk. Bobby’s career started as a child at age 9 and it was the generous donations of a dying child family that’s saved his life at 68 years. Seven other people were saved with the child’s other organ transplants. Bobby dedicated his time and talent the last ten years to promoting organ donation.

“[Rydell’s] life was about to end when the generous family of a dying child saved 8 lives by organ donation," Rydell returned to the stage half a year later, dedicated to spreading awareness about how organ donation can save lives.” -

Wow! Bobby got an extra 10 years due to the wonders of kidney & liver transplants!

Godspeed to all those donating and those receiving.

That is hopeful for a lot of folks right there. My little sister got a kidney and pancreas transplant in 2020, now she no longer has diabetes myelitis.

Then came Elvis, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

And the Clash.
