"I say it's topical instead of political... that I don't take sides," he told Reuters TV.

He's always been a smart guy, much smarter than his early rock image suggested. And a good actor, too.

I looked up the lyric for "Do What You Can". Pretty damn good lyric, actually. Almost Springsteen-esque.

I saw the lyrics video for "American Reckoning" and he is taking sides. But what's wrong with that?

Good songwriyers write observational lyrics. JBJ has greatly matured since the band was another contender of the 80s glam metal scene. Bon Jovi's biggest hits stand up even now.

John 'Hoosier' Mellencamp said, 'You've got to stand for something or you're gonna fall for anything'. Bon Jovi are standing up in their songs and that's more than alright. Rock'n'roll has never been about complicity, ever.

Songs about the pandemic, race and the police. Just what people want to hear on the radio after the past 9 months to take their minds off of things..

Im sure it'll be a big hit.
