Just watched it. Omg, this is so lame. The Fauci voice is barely passable, Brad looks nothing like Fauci in this video, and he's just repeating the media's disingenuous take on Trump's remarks at that presser.

@Serrano- It was more satire than simple comedy.

Expert vs genius?

Am I the only one who remembers how much the left hated Fauci during the '80s because of his HIV work?

Now they love him because he contradicted Trump, just like they flipped and fell in love with McCain, Romney, and others. It seems the left truly believes that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."

Miley Cyrus and Adam Sandler? More like a prequel to idiocracy.

Hilarious - Pitt nailed it - especially at the end.

So, all the Trump supporters here still agree with @firefauci?

Seeing that I had no idea of what you were talking about, I looked it up.

"It was all a bit amusing to watch for the handful of veteran AIDS activists who have a long history with Fauci, one that went from frustrated and adversarial to friendly and collaborative in the space of only a few short years in the late 1980s and early 1990s."

Interesting read. The reality is of course much more nuanced than what you're trying to imply. (Also, people can change a lot in 40 years)(Most people can)

It seems the left truly believes that "the enemy of my enemy is my friend."

Incidentally, that philosophy has actually been a cornerstone of America's foreign policy for several decades, so trying to make it something only "the left" believes in is laughable.

It was nice - and rare - to see someone specifically addressed in a somber way that BP spoke to Dr. Fauci at the end of the comedy bit.

Even though just a wig, Brad Pitt looked pretty good with white hair lol

Brad Pitt is 56 years old, my friend. There'll be some real silver under that rug.

I normally love the show but it was terrible. Take a one or two month breather and come back.

By the way, as a NYer, I found Pitt's twang so not New York. He ain't from the city and should have brushed up on the accent at least.

Brad Pitt was very good as Fauci, and funny. I don't believe Republicans and conservatives can understand the humor, and doubt most watch SNL. Those who don't get intellectual humor generally think it's just fake humor, because they just don't get it, and call it lame. The irony.

The newer cast member like Chloe Fineman and Heidi Gardner were flat out funny, as was most of the skits. But this format's surprise star is Pete Davidson!

You have to be carefull with comments on here. Japan is full of lefty teachers who want you read the Washington Post or New York times and vote for Comatosed Biden and the Demorats

It’s so weird that they would move to such a conservative country as Japan. Do they think they’ll effect change?

Great comment! I nearly spat my anti-Covid Tide pod out.

Fauci proclaimed he would like to be played by Brad in one interview. So he got his wish :) but SNL crew really hated Fauci when AIDS was running rampant in 80s and 90s when Fauci was NIH Coordinator and later directors AIDS . many were very unhappy he made dying people wait for promising drugs

“said Pitt’s Fauci, seated at a desk behind a stately bookcase.”

I’m pretty sleepy and bleary eyed right now but looking at the photo I could swear it’s the other way around.

I remember in an SNL episode in 1995 Dana Carvey was portraying ex-Pres. George Bush and the REAL one came on a large screen via satellite and actually expressed admiration for Dana's imitation. He even gave him a few pointers. Dana then asked George to make the 'Saturday Night announcement' but George said it wouldn't be accurate since he was being broadcast live from Houston! That was the first time nobody announced 'Live from New York....' on SNL.

George Bush understood the humor.

I agree. I like what Brad did here, it was genius, classy and clever. But the episode's other guests leave much to be desired. Miley Cyrus crucifying Pink Floyd and then the vulgar child Adam Sandler who never matured beyond the 8th grade, he's the Donald Trump of comedy. Surely the directors could've dished up better stuff than that!

@starpunk.

agreed, my ears are still bleeding from what she did to WYWH. A true crime against musical integrity!

At the very least, I’d say he wouldn’t have suggested injecting disinfectant.

I see the media fooled you too. Trump didn't suggest that, he was speculating on possible treatments including injecting disinfectant as mentioned by the expert who spoke just before him. You know, like how doctors inject poisonous chemicals into the body to kill cancer cells all the time.

Media: "Trump tells everyone to inject/drink Clorox/Lysol"

I hope Trump sues them for libel.

SNL used to be so good. Then came along Alec Baldwin and Brad Pitt.

Trump did suggest exactly that. Quote, "I see disinfectant, where it knocks it out in a minute, one minute, and is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside".

The expert who spoke just before he came out with this witless drivel was William Bryan, head of the Science and Technology Directorate, and he was talking about the effect of disinfectant on saliva and respiratory fluids. There was no mention of injections of toxic/caustic substances until Dumbo started being 'sarcastic'.

I hope Trump sues them for libel.

I hope the disinfectant manufacturers sue Trump for the cost of sending out PR urging people not to inject or ingest their products. Not to mention the medical and funeral costs for any Trumpetteers who follow his 'advice', whether it's injecting Dettol or trying to swallow a UV light.

I watched him say it. There was no media spin involved. The medical professionals who hit social media saw it too and immediately sent out stern warnings.

I hadn’t been snorting caustic soda, mainlining bleach or huffing drain cleaner before I watched it. I was in a sober state of mind.
