I'm not in the Trump camp, but

“I feel it’s my moral obligation to inform you that on Nov. 8 this hall was the venue for one of the darkest, most negative and utterly destructive moments in the history of this country,"

...really? More destructive than, say, the Atomic Bomb? Agent Orange? The mass lynching of blacks in the early 1910-20s?

"But the usually festive atmosphere at the gathering of international broadcasters was tempered by anxiety over where the United States might be headed once Trump takes office in January."

Pretty obvious where it's headed. Did you not see the Alt-right support meeting the other day where non-whites and Jews were questioned as human beings, and the media that support them "ignorant Golems" and "completely dependent on us while we do not need them", and during which there were countless "Heil"s? The media, and clearly the country, is headed towards Germany circa 1930s.

Neither Trump, nor anyone on his staff has anything to do with that alt-right support group.

You should be ashamed of yourself for trying to paint the picture that there is some connection there or that the country is headed towards the implied Nazi rule of Germany.

Shame on you and people like you.

“I’ve known Steve Bannon a long time. If I thought he was a racist or alt-right or any of the things, the terms we could use, I wouldn’t even think about hiring him,” said Trump on Tuesday, according to journalists in attendance.

From the Guardian

“I don’t want to energize the group, and I disavow the group,” Trump said at a meeting with a group of New York Times journalists, in response to a question from the newspaper’s executive editor, Dean Baquet.

domtoidi: Phew! Well, if it was said by the man who flip-flopped six times in a single interview today, and who can't even take the portrayal of himself on SNL and calls the New York Times a failure, then it MUST be so!

You're in luck, dom, because I also just came across a few unicorns I can sell you on top of what you've already bought.

The media is right to fear people like Trump and the racists and Neo-Nazis and other bigots he's putting into the White House; I have no doubt that before long he'll be talking about how he'll make it law that the media not be allowed to portray the President in a negative light, or report anything he says is "not nice" (before cancelling and rescheduling interviews), etc.
