Every parent should tell their daughter not to enter a hotel room alone with a man because that points her into an extremely vulnerable situation.

Did the hotel staff not even check whether she was a registered guest as she walked past the front desk?

Instead of blaming her and the hotel staff how about blaming the rapist?

But the same is true with the Catholic priesthood -- yet many of the same people who rail against the Catholic Church will give Hollywood a pass. No matter how many Brooke Shields they know or read about.

Your analogy is specious because no one presents Hollywood as a trustworthy institution or pillar of society where one goes to for moral education.

Unlike tax exempt religious institutions or political leaders of large movements who engage in similar behavior to Hollywood execs yet purport to hold some moral authority.

There is a difference between blaming the victim and using common sense. People SHOULD be safe from crime at all times but sadly we know this is not the case.

Ladies, never ever EVER accompany a man back to his hotel room to discuss “your career” or anything else.

It’s nothing more than a ruse to either talk you into sex or to flat-out rape you.

Meet in a public place to discuss anything to do with your career, your future, collaboration projects.

’Using common sense’ is telling every woman not to enter a room alone with a man?

Do you think only women get raped? That women don’t get raped by family members? That gang rape doesn’t occur?

What’s ‘common sense’? Never be in a room with anybody?

This kind of absolutely not ‘common sense’ ‘argument’ is unfortunately common and is nothing other than victim blaming.

Well, this is her version of the story.

I wonder what the other side is (the "attacker whose identity is not revealed).

Part one examines the intense sexualization Shields experienced as a young girl, including a provocative nude photoshoot at age 10, and her appearance as an child prostitute in the film "Pretty Baby" at age 11.

Where was her father? I guess the mother's alcoholism made her unable or unwilling to take better care of her child and keep her away from these vile predators.

I completely believe her.

Just goes to show that if someone as brilliant as Shields can be raped as a full woman, it can happen to anyone. She isn't some dumb bimbo actress and never has been.

BTW, men can be raped too, though society doesn't make men feel the same stigma from it, provided it was a female aggressor.

Did the hotel staff not even check whether she was a registered guest as she walked past the front desk?

She would have been recognized and in high-end hotels, discretion is the rule for all staff. Nobody would have said a thing. Some hotels are used for business meetings by people too. My first real job interview, at a company you all know. was in a hotel room. They'd come to our University to interview graduating engineers. This was common. All these interviews that semester were in hotels, usually in the suite where the interviewers were staying.

And I believe every word of her story.

At this stage, it is only her story,

For decades, Hollywood has been teeming with rapists, pedophiles, and those who sexually exploited women lest they (the women) lose their careers.

True.

Harvey Weinstein's "casting couch" was a running joke in Hollywood for years. Remember Seth McFarlane's joke at the 2013 Oscars?

Yes.

After reading out the names of the Best Supporting Actress nominees, MacFarlane quipped: “Congratulations, you five ladies no longer have to pretend to be attracted to Harvey Weinstein."

And the audience roared in laughter.

Looking back, wish everyone had known better.

And don't forget Hollywood giving Roman Polanski an award, and a standing ovation on top of it -- while he watched from a screen in France because he'd land in jail if he ever set foot in the U.S. again after raping a 13-year old girl.

Right, And if it were either Harvey or Roman who had been the unnamed assailant, I would believe her 100%.

But since the accuser is not named, we still only have one version of an alleged incident.

She is a little older than mr so she was a teenage crush when I was growing up. But many such model superstars are exploited. Now America has these disgusting Jon Bon ramsey style 'beauty pageants' and they are nothing but a Pervert's Paradise City. They are SICK.

I believe every bit of her story here too. 99.99% of rape allegations are real. And yes, men also get raped but the culture of 'manning up + toughing it out' often leads to them suppressing the horror memories for years, resulting in severe psychological and/or sexual problems for them as well.

Stop the victim-blaming!

Im sure many are curious as to why she is not naming the rapist. And the article doesnt attempt to answer the question either.

"I didn't fight that much. I didn't. I just absolutely froze. I thought that my one 'no' should have been enough. And I just thought 'stay alive and get out.'"

After the incident, Shields recalled phoning her friend and security head Gavin de Becker, who told her: "That's rape."

This is a clear example of how ignorant so many people are about sexual abuse/assault/rape. Many people don't know how to react during a rape because it usually occurs so fast before the victim knows what's going on. Then it's too late, the crime is done.

I believe Brooke Shields' story here, as I do most of the 'Me Too' allegations of recent years. Rape is common in the US military and the disgusting behavior, attitude and antics of the Caligula Donald Jerk Trump have exposed the social disease even further and have given more victims the strength to step up and come forth.

Of course some people will say there's some bandwagoners - but their stories don't fly because there's nothing to support it. That's why I never believed that jive about George Bush being a butt-slapper. When you're a POTUS, everybody's got their eye on you. If Bush 43 was that kind of guy, we'd known about it a long time ago.

But the allegations against Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, R Kelly and others add up. Make no mistake, 99.99% of rape allegations are the REAL deal. And I believe everything that Brooke the very gorgeous 'Pretty Baby' (now a Pretty Lady) is saying. At the same time, sad to say - when some idiot rapes you, they take your virginity away if you're still one. That's one reason these evil rapists rape. It's about power, ego, fear and invading a personal perimeter. The victim is never the same after the act.
