Language death is always disappointing, from a historic/linguistic perspective.

C'mon people, a language itself is not a political opinion. Otherwise we would have been calling for German to die for the better part of a century.

Nothing wrong with preserving your culture and national identity. Afrikaans is a cool language. I speak Dutch so it’s really easy to understand.

Afrikaans is an interesting language. If you know it or speak Dutch or Flemish you can kinda sorta communicate with each other! I love languages where you can use it in multiple different countries.
